Passed away this weekend...

My partner and little brother's Jody's (AKA GUS) Grandfather passed away this past Saturday. He was 88 years old and has been fighting "the long fight" for the last few years with his health.

He moved in with Jody and Jody has been taking care of him for about the last year.

Jody was raised by his grandparents, and inasmuch you might as well say Jody's father passed away.

I know from my parents passing, this is a hard time in anyone's life. I ask all of you to say a small prayer for Gus this week. ray:

I know "Gramps" is in a better place and no longer suffering here, but the empty spot that is now left in our lives will not be filled easily.

Our heart goes out to you Gus, WE LOVE YOU JODY!

Sorry to hear this, I know you loved him very much and it's been hard for you taking care of him for awhile now. I know you'll miss him but it sounds like he lived a long life and was loved. We'll keep you in our prayers Bro.

I lived with my grandparents when I was young, losing them was very hard. My prayers and sympathy for Jody and his family in their loss.

Thanks for the kind words and prayers folks. Means alot. Sorry for the long delay, but I am just getting in from work.. Yes work! We all grieve differently and if it wasn't for the small thing called sleep, I would probally still be out in the garage working/cleaning/playing with one of the toys, cleaning up the yard or something. I need to keep occupied or I'll go nuts. They last few months have been very difficult and I pray that none of us have to go out that way.

What I need is one of my famous H#LL rides on the bike to go and clear my head. Tried on Sunday, but the others I was with didn't have the same agenda and really didn't help :gaah:. Maybe with the long weekend coming up I can just go beat the bike into the ground to take out my fustrations and clear my head.

Wednesday will be tough with the few friends that are still living coming to pay their respects. These are people that remember me from a tiny little one. All I know is that when they see him dressed in his Mets gear, they will all know that he is at peace. "Let's GO METS" right Pop!!!hyea::2thumbs: Maybe they'll do it this year just for you!:2thumbs:
