• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

parts listing

Got back from the rally yesterday...went to buy oil change supplies...here we go again? We had this conversation about a month ago, but the parts guy doesn't remember...has no idea how to look up the parts, now tells me he has no parts data for the Spyder and asks me..."Do you have the parts fische or know how to look it up?"..."I need a part number to check our stock!" The only reason why he had the ability to find the filter is he looked at my purchase history...but they didn't know about the o-ring then and drain washers. I could see it in the kids eyes... he had a look of satisfaction, like he had done a great job and was ready to get his sales commision for the oil and filter. I asked to see the parts guy and he said..."well?...thats me!" Ok...bag it up, I'll just go without...AGAIN!.
Took me al of 30 seconds to find this parts page on the web.

In a lot of dealerships, the parts guy is the bottom of the feeding chain. Too bad, since a good parts man, with experience, is a real asset to a dealership. Let's hope the poor, green kid gets better. I think the same method we use to look up the parts on the Web is what they have to do. Go to advanced search and enter "spyder" or "roadster". The software is not set up with a category for this model yet, by default. Maybe he'll let you behind the counter to show him how to work his computer.

Where is Red Rock?

Hey Jim,

I live in AZ, but must admit I am ignorant about where Red Rock is? What dealer are you using? I go to Ride Now in Phoenix, they are very well versed, very helpful overall. Between myself and my husband (V-strom) we have really put them through the hoops finding us a really long list of parts and accessories and they have stayed with it throughout. If you're anywhere close to feasible, I would suggest going to them.

Better luck in the future!

I am between Picacho Peak and Marana...25 miles west of Tucson. I used Ride Now...or they used me, how ever you want to put it? Does your husband have the Suzuki luggage or the Suzuki hand grip brush guards for the Vstrom and have you sized them up against the Spyder? I really like Vstrom luggage and am looking at the brush guards for my hand grips for cold weather.

In regards to the items needed for an oil change, the part numbers matched the dealers stock, they were out of 1 item. If there are some differences, it wouldn't hurt to print out what you need to give the parts guy a heads up even if he has to compare.
