Parking break issue

I wanted to see if I could get some help with this, I have a new 2014 RTS with about 300 miles on it and when I went to put the parking break on last night the bike still moved. It's the first time this has happened, as I always check if brake is engaged before I get off. Tried it a few times and it will keep inching forward with a little force. I even stood to the side with hands on the handlebars with brake engaged and it pushed forward. It feels like it's engaging I guess but not fully. More resistance than being in neutral of course. Didn't know if this could be an easy adjustment or if I need to take to the dealer. Any thoughts or help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Was the engine still running when you put the brake on? I think it is best for it to be running to set the brake...

I have the same problem ,,,, Mine is a bad parking brake actuator motor I will have it replaced after the owners event. Leave it in gear when you set the brake.

Yes engine is always running when I set the parking brake, does anyone know how to adjust it

Took it to the dealer and they've found that some of the 14's actuator motors for the parking brake start relaxing and have to be replaced. They were able to find this after trying to adjust the brake at the rear wheel unsuccessfully. Be careful parking on hills!!! Remember to always give it a nudge to make sure brake engaged fully. Ryde safe

Got the parking brake motor replaced, finally works like it's supposed to on a brand new machine!!

Do not trust your parking brake! Double check to make sure it is engaged. I checked mine after this accident. Perhaps 1 time in 20 it would not fully engage.
