• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Parking Brake failure?

Hey all! I took my RT out for the last ride and put some stabilizer, to get ready to store it for the winter. As I was backing it into the basement, where I want to do the final prep before putting it into my small garage(basement is heated, garage isn't) I spun the back tire a little on the deck in front of the basement doors. This usually happens at this time of year, but this time when I was on the small deck and went to engage the braking brake so I could turn it off and push it into the basement, it told me parking brake failure and would not engage. I can hear it trying to engage and the light comes on for a second, but then goes off. When I pushed it for taking it off I hear nothing, but push for on and can hear it try to engage, but nothing. Luckily the beeping stops after a few second when the Spyder is turned off. I notice there is like a pulley on the caliber with the parking brake cable attached, but see no movement. I will look at the manual tonight, but thought I would run it by here to see if anyone has any ideas? Not a big deal as it will be put away shortly, but would like to fix it before then. Thanks in advance.

Most of the time it is the wire came off the pulley under the passenger side actuator . Once you pull the cover you will see it. Pretty easy to put back on. Some have drilled a hole and added a tie wrap to prevent it from reoccurring:thumbup:

Here is another fix someone did

Thanks guys, yes I remember that article, and was going to search Spyderlovers for it tonight. Just created the above post right after it happened and was in panic mode! :gaah:Thought it was something like that, but thought and was right someone had it happen to them and would reply. I thank you kindly and well have the Tupperware off this week to lubricate everything and remove the battery. I will check it then. I hope it is just that and will let you know. Thanks again!

There you go...!!

that is more than likely the problem. Check it out and apply one of those fixes or mount an "L" bracket where they installed the bolt..
