• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Parking Brake failed...Update

For those that didn't catch my first post, here is the link http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/...ailed!-Think-spydee-is-DOWN-and-OUT-this-time!! Come to find out, other than the mentioned trashed parts, I find out that my frame is indeed messed up. One of the main frame brackets on the right side is bent bad enough that it cannot be repaired. Instead of totaling out the bike, they said they were getting me a new frame, new parts and new accessories. They said it would take about a month to get her all put back together and running again. It's gonna be a LONG months time. I guess I can quit scoping out the new 2013's. Although I only moved the notion to the back burner for now, the possibility is not out of the question yet.......

I know, that was and is still a major concern of mine :yikes: They said they had done this before a few times,,, I guess I have to wait n see............

Good luck!

And I would make absolutely certain, that they are not also going to change/add verbiage to your Registration/Title stating the vehicle is now a Salvaged/Modified vehicle. I had that happen to me when they replaced my 1977 Silverado frame. Really was not happy when I went to sell it later on...

I highly doubt they would.. Just offering one item worth asking about. If they are, I would exercise your right to request they total the bike and let them deal with that issue on their own.

COST OF REPLACEMENT

Considering what the BILL for " LABOR " alone is going to be at BRP dealer rates I don't think the Insurance Co. made a smart move here.....Unless the Dealer has lowballed the time involved and will just say "OOP's Sorry" later........not un-heard of..........You may want to run this scenerio by your agent so the Ins.co. knows it may cost a few thousand more than they think ?????? and you fully expect them to stand by their deciding to fix rather than to total the spyder ......Just a thought............Mike

It was a pretty steep estimate they gave me. I done the math as close as I could as far as blue book value and percentages go and figured the ins. co. could go either way. I have not seen the actual written estimate as to see how it is all broke down but i WILL request they get me one. ASAP!!!
