There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Get a brick and put it under the wheel.Seriously the brake maybe wear and tear but parking brake should be part of warranty,it is a safety feature.

Try spraying some oil on the key/spring mechanism that locks on the plate with the teeth. I had the same problem. After I sprayed it, I could release the brake with 2 fingers.
like i said, if it's sticking it's another matter.
if your spyder has the new spring for pedal on it your dealer better be ready to fight BRP for their time working on your spyder. it's all up to your dealer to how they present the problem to BRP and how aggressive a dealer will pursue this. one of our ryder in the group had that problem and he had hard time convincing dealer that there really was a problem. i think he did get it fixed. i will ask him what the eventual solution was.
i do believe ryders had success with spraying parts cleaner(brake cleaner) where that locking mechanism is.

If your Spyder does not fall within the list of models and serial numbers that have the defective parking brake parts, that update will do no good. Have the dealer pull the hard copy of the service bulletin, however. Our Spyder was eligible, but it did not show up on the computer under our VIN#. If you are not one with the defective parts, a good spray with WD-40 or another spray lube from time to time should cure things.
Dudley's right! The day I went riding with Dudley and Jennifer he told me to spray all of the parts behind the lever with WD40. It's hard to believe, but it makes everything about the parking brake work great! It goes on easy and comes off easy - no ifs ands or buts - it just works! Do what Dudley says - Oil it! :lecturef_smilie:
