Parking brake actuator failure/does BEST warranty cover?

So the parking brake failed on me. Has anyone else had this happen, and if so did your BEST warranty cover it?

Mine failed at 9,300 and a year and was covered under factory so B.E.S.T. should cover it for your $50 deductible.

My Spyder has been diagnosed with this, on the first go around they replaced the left switch pack, this time the actuator. It's covered under warranty, if you're on the extended warranty it will probably cost you a deductible, which is way less than it will cost to replace the motor. I wish they would have made a simple manual hand brake. What a PITA. Costing me valuable riding time.

Exactly what I am upset about most!

You can do the 12mm wrench thing while you wait for the dealer to obtain the parts -- this is what I did when mine started getting "sticky." Once the parts are in, schedule an appointment for them to replace the parking brake motor … it's about a 30 to 60 minute job.

Good luck …. Ann

My 2018 RT LTD did this at about 6500 miles, just as we were leaving on a an 800 mile trip. I disconnected the cable with the above mentioned 12mm wrenches, threw some small blocks of wood in the frunk for chocks, and proceeded with the trip. About half way through the trip, it started working again, so I re-connected the cable. It worked fine for the remainder of the trip, but occurred a couple more times after we got home. I took it to the dealer, and they replaced the cable and servo motor under the factory warranty.

Guys I’ve been getting an intermittent brake failure (light comes on) while riding and standing still. Brakes work fine and light only stays on for a second or two. Happens while riding as well. On for a second then off. No participar pattern, in other words it’s not while I’m pressing the brake. It happens often. Today I was parked, engine off. Turned bike on, light came on and stayed on AND the parking brake wouldn’t disengage. Turned bike off then back on and it disengaged. Drove home but I think it’s time to address. How can I test to see what’s going on?

2012 with 11590 miles. Got it from iMotorSports about 7 weeks ago. Put about 1200 miles on it.

Thanks
Steve.

I carried a wood block when my brake wouldn't hold, rode 90 mi to dealer to have diagnosed. Part was ordered and when in I was called and had first appointment in a.m. to get new motor installed; took maybe an hour max. The two trips were not a problem in my mind as I could still ride. Had I had the lock up problem, would have done the wrench solution and same first thing install appointment.
