• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

The stock seat sux azz!!

I just found out about Kontour seats, and Utopia back rests. Anyone had any experience w/ these companies?

What are you guys using to keep your feet, and ass where they belong?

THX 4 Readin'!

I started with stock seat and Utopia--did not like it. Went to a Corbin seat with oval backrest for pilot. 13,000 miles later--I like it. I have been a Corbin fan on all my Spyders. Corbin will also modify seat cushioning to suit your needs. They are not cheap--but they are good.

i and a few others on here have used a airhawk insert which is the same as the roho pads. have not got a pressure spot in 21,000 miles.

I'm using a Corbin. The "Day Long" seat from Russell Cycle is the best I've used previously on 2 wheelers, but you must furnish a seat pan.

Seth,which Air-Hawk do you use?(Model # or size.)

the passenger 14x10 inch one, I got it from powersports4less, good guy on here and worked great. I put mine inside which is quite the task, others have put it on the outside, I will tell ya you have to get rid of the foam and replace it with the pad otherwise you sit too high.

Hello,
Backrest is necessary for those that we haven't abdos like me, but for me it should also be removable easily for make the transfert to the wheelchair, so here you can fin my mod i made on my atv; its a base of a SHAD burgman backrest.
This is very confortable and easy to adapt

Although I am not fighting any physical challenges, I did get the Kontour Seat and Utopia backrest on my 2008 RS. The seat has an amazing amount of air flow so your behind stays a lot cooler and drier. The back rest is definitely a big plus just to keep your riding posture better. I did not get the Kontour seat fabric on the backrest, but may do so in the future just for the air flow on my back when it is hot. The Kontour fabric will let you scoot around a little more on the seat until broken it. Not sure how important that is to you but would recommend finding someone that has one so you can take a test ride or at least sit on one. Not sure where you are located, but if close, would be happy to let you take a look at my seat. I had my floorboards made from diamond plate aluminum but think they would also work to help keep feet in place depending on your needs. The following link gives more detail http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?27212-My-Diamond-Plate-Aluminum-Floorboards. Feel free to email me with any questions and I would be happy to give you a call also.
