• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Palindromes; anyone else track them?

I'm somewhat of a numbers geek and regularly track things like palindromes as they appear on the odometer. Here is one I saw yesterday along with a couple of views where it occurred. :f_spider:

Pallindrome, Pallindrome, where do you roam?

Pallindrome, Pallindrome, far, far, from home.

Have Spyder, will travel, reads the card of a man.

Now I have done it.

What part of Texas were those taken.

Looks barren.

I have been collecting Pallindromes for years. I have a whole bunch of bus tickets from Argentina when I lived there. I also have pictures of the odo turning up a pallindrome. Its kinda fun. Thought maybe I was the only one.

ya, I feel like it adds something to any ride; not just the boring ones. I try to get pictures of all of them along with big milestones like 10K moments of silence where I try to stop for that moment as a sign of thanks for making another 10K all in one piece. I've observed 48 of those now. There are also big ones like 50K and 100K events. The biggest one came a little over year ago when I made a special trip to get great back drop pictures for seeing the 500K lifetime total.

I must have scrolled right past this. That's overlooking Lake Meredith in the Panhandle and yes many parts are somewhat barren. However, if you know where to look there are many pretty and unique places here but seeing them requires one to leave the 4-lane slab and explore the backroads. :doorag:

While I'm here, I got another one April 17 that I forgot to post. This one happened close to the golf course that I play regularly. The 18th hole is just behind that white wall that can be seen in the background across the pond.

I do it all the time - look for number sequences, patterns, consecutive number runs, etc.

Snagged another one Friday on the way to an estate sale in Stratford, Tx.

Since this thread popped up again...

I thought I would share a treat with you all.

Here are the Riders in the Sky performing their famous Palindrome Song...

https://youtu.be/g8vpCSE3ocM

I saw them perform this one live at Big Top Chataqua in Bayfield WI about 25 years ago.

And yes, I bought a Ranger Rick, genuine Cactie, from Ranger Rick himself. I still wear it to church sometimes when I am feeling nostalgic.
