• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Painting the Micron?

I'm repainting my Spyder. No more red for DD. How do you best paint a can? I understand the paint has to be high heat but are there any gotchyas I should know about?

With my current experience in painting the Supertrapps in mind, anything less than 1200* paint will eventually fail. Even with the 1200* paint, it discolors a little at the extreme heat locations... front and rear... for the Trapps.

All of the prior paint should be removed for best results... I used a wire wheel on an air grinder and a glass bead blaster to finish it off. I also used spray brake cleaner (hint: it works well) to clean / degrease it just before painting.

You may want to test the brake cleaner on the existing paint... it removed all of the stock Trapp paint quickly. It did not work on my first Trapp 900* paint job.

Preparation is everything!

With the limited colors in the high temp paint, wouldn't you be better off just buying a new exhaust?

Last I heard, Magic Man still has a small supply. Supposedly the last of the Micron pipes so the selection may be limited.

May I ask why? Don't you like the red anymore? Did you decide you don't like your flames? I am just curious and are you going to tell us your new color choice? Inquiring minds want to know.

Of course you may ask why! The red is great but I've found inspiration in another design that I feel better compliments my investment in this machine. I don't want to reveal the nature of the new design yet as I am waiting on a quote to determine the feasibility. :2excited:
