• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Paint Match For BRP's Viper Red

I purchased a pair of Vertika Trykes Air Scoops from Reggy at SpyderFest 2013 and took them to my paint guy the Monday after. I gave him the print out on U.S. Paints, which seems to be the only company that you can get the paint codes for BRP products. Go figure. Chris has color matched all of my projects by eye and experience. I trust him more than I do U.S. Paints and they are even in my neck of the woods. They pulled out some color swatches and placed them up to the Spyder. We found an exact match for the tint of Viper Red when my 2011 ran through the spray booth.
Oddly enough, it happens to be the Chrysler High Performance Red PR3.

It even turns the same color of orange if you shoot it in the sun!

The following pics show the match job.

Ryde safe!

Not only are they really cool looking, they are very functional. They keep the engine's temp a click or two under 3 O'clock.

Reggy at TricLED is going to be the U.S. supplier for Vertika. He should have his site up in the near future.

Viper Red Paint.

Thanks for the tip on the Chrysler High Performance Red PR3 being a good match for the Can Am Viper Red color. I like to keep a small bottle of paint on hand as a just in case for any nicks or rock hits, and I don't understand why BRP doesn't provide bottles of touch up paint for sale. Unless they don't want to deal with any possible Haz. Mat. issues. Anyway, I ordered a bottle of the Mopar Red PR3 touch up paint, and it took two days to get here. I picked it up today at our local Dodge/Chrysler dealer, price $11.10. <M>

Unless I am missing something, I am not surprised the paint match found is by Chrysler, since the Viper is made by Dodge/Chrysler. ;)

I really do like the air-scoops though. Saw those at SF. Seems these should have been the design by Spyder in the first place.

Not sure of their price... but I suspect they are not giving them away...

They aren't cheap at $600 a pair, but they just look soooo cool!

I hope the PR3 touch up paint works for you.
