• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Paint is dry!

I like it! All my gray aluminum is at the powder coaters getting do in candy apple red. :ohyea: All except the back wheel and sprocket. I pick the parts up next Friday. Not going to make Spyderfest, but I'll be at Maggie Valley.

Been wanting to paint mine but didn't know if the paint would stick. How did you prep the peices?

I wet sanded all and dried, use cotton or powder free latex gloves to keep oil from your hands off and 2 coats of etching primer "i used rattle can" from auto zone. Then after an hour of drying I put 2 coats of paint. After drying I put 5 coats of acrylic clear. All from a spray can from auto zone.

"Etching primer" will make anything stick to powder coat! "Do not sand powder coat off", your just cleaning the snot out of it by wet sanding. Use A LOT of water to keep the sanding dust washed off as you sand. Jerry

I would love to see it when you get back together! I wanted to powder coat mine but got board one weekend. lol.

Farmboy: Good work. When I spray paint I usually get runs, so I know it takes some skill to paint like that.

Question: Are your extended foot rests attached to the rig that Lamont sells? I have his rig and used a footpeg which I use all the time, but have been looking for a larger one similar to yours, but have not found one that fits.

No, I built my own. The boards I found used at a swap meet. Do not even know what brand they are.

Do you have a close up photo of how you mounted them?

Thanks
John

No I dont but I can tell you.... but I do not recommend any one else to do what I did. 1/2 in. thick flat bar 2 in. wide and welded to frame. Could damage the frame if gotten to hot.

Was there any drinking going on before that?

My biggest fear is drinking and cruising flea bay...

Thanks for the heads up.

John
