• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Oyster Run

Sunday, the day of the 2010 Anacortes WA Oyster Run, dawned dreary and drizzly, but, as they say in the North West, if you don't ride in the rain, you don't ride. A bunch of Spyder ryders from WA and BC congregated at the Calico Cupboard Cafe in La Conner, then rode as a group to Anacortes, a small Washington seaport, which soon filled up with 2 and 3 wheelers of every description. Great performances were put on by the North West Wings Drill team and the Seattle Cossacks trick riders. The group photo shows, left to right: Neez, Jomion, Truck 85, Seattle and Riot. Walley 69 was present, as well, but somehow missed being in the picture. The row of spyders starts with Jomion's nice new RT. Folks that attended the Chicago event will recall that Joe (Jomion) got the prize for ryding the longest distance to the event on his GS. He traded it in and rode home in style on a new RT! The yellow Goldwings are NW Wings Drill team, and the final shot is of Truck 85 (Rick) and Riot (Troy) Checking out the passing parade of bikes.

Great meetng everyone Sunday. Love Joes LED's and am just getting mine started this week. (been a busy boy the past few weeks)

I'll let "Panda" know you have pics of their performance. NW Wings are a great group and I realy enjoyed watching them practice last month in Renton. Took the trike to show my friend. They couldn't get over how fun my RT-S looked. Let a few ryde and get a feel for it.

See you around Seattle... Guinness

Joe's LED's??

Hey Guys,

Sorry we missed the Oyster Run. We are in Stanwood but I've only had my new Spyder for three weeks or so and need to take the Skills Test yet to complete my Trike/Sidecar endorsement. My wife and I look forward to meeting you next year.

You mention Joe's LED's...

1. Are those fender tip replacments?
and
2. Do you have a link for where I can find them?
(Search results are coming up empty so far.)

Thanks,

Tim

Psssst....Jomion = Wukka, but it's our secret. :roflblack:

The fender tip bulbs were replaced with white LED's from http://www.v-leds.com/. The are much brighter than the plain old 194 filament bulbs and use less power.

The LED strip that goes over the fender is from http://www.tricled.com/. Taps right into the fender tip line and fits in the little 'groove' that is in the middle of the fender. EASY INSTALL.

The red LED that replaces the fender reflector is from ESI Cycle Products, at http://www.esicycleproducts.com/mudflaps.html. These too are tapped into the fender tip bulbs so you can do them all on one connection if you install them at the same time as the LED fender strip. However, for these red LED's, you need to take the wheel and fender off to drill a hole in the mudflap of the fender and run the line underneath to the front. It sounds intimidating but it really is an easy install - especially with the provided instructions from ESI.

The Oyster Run was (once again) a real blast. Even in the rain, it's still definitely worth the trip.

Thanks for the links and feedback. I was aware of ESI and TricLED but V-LEDs was a new one and looks like a great site too. Modifying the Spyder is going to be fun and I plan on going crazy with lighting!

194 Replacements

I see several LED replacements for the 194 bulbs, which did you use? The fender tip housing is a little unusual... any modification necessary for a good fit?
