• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I recevied my ownership packet which inlcuded my owner id card. I went to the website to register as an owner but the id comes back as invalid. I have emailed the link on the BRP registration site several times and have not gotten a response. has anybody else had this happen? how/when was it resolved? eager owner wanting to register.

mine did this too, I didn't put the spaces because that would be stupid. but it is a site not made here..

Make sure that you haven't got a 1 where you should have an I, I did, and it took months to get it changed.

I had problems registering too. I ended up in a routine where it assigned me a new ID now I figure that the card is useless. I may take it along to the dealer some day and see if it has any meaning to them. Dealers seem to work using name and VIN to get all the info they need. Right now I don't see any value in that card at all. :dontknow:

The big problem with that number they give you is that the "1" looks like an "I" and you can't get it to work. I had the same problem until I figured that out.

Basically once you get registered you are official with BRP. I think this is for their use more than anything else. Probably helps them get a head count of what product is selling and where. Plus it registers you into the Spyderryders site ( I think that is the name! :dontknow: ) which is kind of just another community where Spyder enthusiasts can congrigate. As far as value at the Dealership, I do not think it carries much weight at all!

It carries no weight with the dealer. Once they check your number and determine that you are in the computer data base, that's it. Your history in the computer data base is accessible by any dealer, anywhere. You don't need to do anything.

Ummm... Yeah, what he said!! :roflblack: You are completely correct, Sir!

Same happened to me. I e-mailed...nothing. It's been over a year since I first tried. I gave up.

I recevied my ownership packet which included my owner id card.

When we received our packet last year, the welcome & letter & pin were present but no id card.:helpsmilie:

I emailed support (a few of times) & they did email me an id #.

When I went to register I just copied the id # & pasted. It came up invalid repeatedly. To the point I was going to give up. I physically typed it in out of curiosity & it worked:dontknow:

We're good now:thumbup:

Personally, I think being a registered BRP Spyder owner and being able to log into the site a a nice feature. Honestly, I think the potential is there for that owner section to be better than it is but like most things web related...the level of enjoyment is directly linked to the level of participation. And we are talking about a Canadian company so the font they use on their membership cards is a bit unusual. Thus zero's look like OH's and EYES look like the number 1...and vice versa. Not that many different combinations to try.

BRP did not have to create an owner only access page, I think it pretty cool. I don't recall getting that when I bought my brand new truck back in the day from Chevrolet. :dontknow:

Maybe I just getting tired of people bashing BRP. Give 'em something for at least trying to set up an owner only section.
