There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. OUTSTANDING Meet and Greet in Richmond, VA

Count me in!

I would love to ride out to one of Virginia's many vineyards. Be sure to post details on our Facebook page too so that the word gets out. I'll round up the Girls on Spyders.

Hmmmmm!?!?!

Um, that's called a joke. :D

I must have been absent that day at the College of Comedy. Maybe I took it the wrong way, or maybe I took your attempt at humor a little personal. At any rate, the fact remains. I took a swing at trying to make sure you were invited to some of the events we talked about on line...getting together for rides, getting together for lunch with some out of town riders, brunch in Richmond, and the ride to the vineyards. All invitations were met with sarcastic responses, or as you said "jokes." Be that as it may, I was truly hoping the PM I sent would explain. I obviously fell a little short. Let us agree to disagree, and just let this sleeping dog lay. I have an idea where you stand, and you have been made aware of my stance. Let's just leave it at that. To the members reading, I apologize for the rant. I usually practice more restraint.

I may be the only living person without a Facebook account. As we start firming up dates, I will make sure to get it on Facebook...or Indian Smoke Signals...or Pony Express. I think I just told my age. I'll make sure to get the info out to all that are interested. Thanks for the interest, and, if I didn't already say it, I appreciate the invitation to tag along with you all for the ride after the brunch!!!!

Sorry my kidding around was taken the wrong way.

As far as events, they all seem far away for me a new rider. As far as the one at the beach, no one returned any of my PM's?

Don't know why, but no big deal.

.

Cheryl and I enjoyed the get together. John, keep us posted, if possible we would love to join a vineyard visit.

We had a great time this Saturday and enjoyed the ride. I will post the PICS in this thread that I took of the group at the restaurant when I get off of work today.

It depends on the date of the wine tour but count us in also. That's a nice ride down 17 and how I normally travel on my Spyder when I go to Williamsburg, Hampton or Norfolk from Northern VA.

I also don't use Facebook but I look at the Virgina page of this site often. That would be a good location to post the VA events and we may have riders from MD, DC, WV and NC participate since they will see the post on this site.

It was good seeing old friends and meeting new friends. Dan I'm sorry that your Spyder had the dreaded Vacuum Hose issue that caused you to miss out.

Until we meet again, Ride safe and Happy Spydering.

These look great

These are the two Vineyards I spoke of earlier. Not actually in Kent County, but you get what I'm saying. I will work on getting the info out to everyone as soon as I firm up some dates.

These both look great to me. Do you know of any vineyards in the Kent area that also serve food? Since you don't have Facebook, I will make sure to post whatever we all decide on there for the rest of the 21st century folks to see, lol.

Unless I missed one, most of the local Vineyards only showcase their wines for simple tastings. A few will have pairing events throughout the year, where they will actually serve "finger-foods". Usually, and depending on the size of the event, this can run you anywhere from $5 to $100 per person. That is why I thought it would be to our advantage just to meet up at one of the vineyards, bring our own separate picnic items, and just enjoy the day. That way, the only thing you have to pay for is $7 to $10 per person for a simple tasting (if you choose to indulge). Remember, this is not meant to be like a "Full on, Lamonster-style, Pig pickin' Bar-B-Que". This is more of a "Bring what YOU want to eat" type picnic. BYOF-type. As my wife and I have done this on some of our trips to the Canadian vineyards, we normally just bring a good loaf of French or Italian bread, a good size hunk of cheese, smoked meat of some sort, and a few bottles of water to wash the wine down. Both Saude Creek and Gauthier have a spacious tasting hall. Great for socializing and such. I think Saude Creek may even have one of the local farmers selling his homemade BBQ sandwiches on the property. This is also dependent on whether or not there is some sort of event being held. This is basically just an impromptu "meet and greet" without all the formalities of a "meet and greet". I guess you could just call it "A Gathering of Spyders". That works for me!!!

DLewis, what part of SC are you located? North, South, East, or West? Are you near a major City? I'm trying to see how far away you are. Who knows...my wife and I may just make the ride down just to make sure you have someone to ride with! That's how much fun we have with our Spyder!!!!
