There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Outside cover waterproof?

Is the outside cover waterproof? The Spyder still seems to be soaking wet after it rains using the outside cover.

One of the difficulties with waterproof covers is that they cause consensation to form beneath them. It is typical for an outdoor cover to keep a motorcycle dry during a rainstorm, but to have the motorcycle soaking wet the next morning...even if it didn't rain, due to condensation beneath the cover. Breathable covers, with soft liners do a better job, but there are none available for the Spyder that I know of. Just the nature of the beast, I'm afraid.

I have not had an extended rain period test (hours and hours) yet for my outside cover. But I rode into work one morning and covered up like I always do. Then it rained for a good part of the afternoon, and I wondered what I would find when I came out to ride home.

Thankfully the rain had stopped for a bit and there was a puddle of water sitting on top of the cover. I carefully wiped that away, and took the cover off. To my amazement 14 was bone dry. I did wipe the seat down but I really didn't have to. Further, the cover itself shook out pretty nicely so it was basically dry when I put it back in the trunk.

Ironically, it started raining on the way home so I got wet anyway! :roflblack: But the cover seemed to do it's job. So I have faith that my outside cover will provide good protection from the elements. I'm glad I bought one.

I am surprised that BRP would not have thought about the condensation problem when they designed the cover usually their acc are pretty good quality. Could the condensation problem be solved by installing a vent in the cover much the same way a boat cover has them installed. Our pontoon boat cover has them installed and we don't get condensation under the cover anymore. I bought the cover from Boatcovers.com and found the cover trapped condensation so the boat interior would always be wet. I bought vents from boatcovers.com and installed them and that solved our condensation problem.:dontknow:

Good thinking Marker! SO far my outside cover is doing an outstanding job. Now that it has started raining out here I'll keep y'all posted on how it does! So far so good though...

Thanks for the responses. Now that I think about it, the Spyder is also wet even when it doesnt rain like you mentioned.
