There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Outdoor Cover Use in Garage??

Okay so I bought an outdoor cover and was thinking of putting it on when I store the Spyder in the garage this winter. Is there a reason why this would be a problem? My assumption is that air will get to the bike regardless of what cover I use and it is expensive to buy another cover.

I DID THE SAME THING WHEN I BOUGHT MY SPYDER, BUT CHECKING AROUND I THINK A INDOOR IS BETTER. THANKS TO DIRECTOR I BOUGHT A INDOOR COVER FROM DennisKirk [model#trk350] for HARLEY TRIKES $34.99 AND RIGHT NOW FREE SHIPPING TO LOWER 48 STATES. HAPPY :spyder2: OWNER

I've asked about this too. The concensus is NO. Condensation will form. The porous indoor cover is the way to go in a garage.

I don't suppose anyone is interested in a trade? Even trade, one for the other. Shoot me a PM if interested.

My experience with car covers...

Hello Amanda,
I have considered doing this to my classic car. The reason I chose not to put a cover on it inside of the garage is this: By using a cover, one surface touching another surface may be abrasive over time. I have used a cover on a vehicle parked outside before years ago and it did cause wear on the paint. The wind moving the cover caused wear on the paint. Even with a good coat of wax. If there's no wind, probably will not be a problem. I choose not to use a cover when parking anything in a garage. That's my 2 cents worth. Have a great day. Jerry

I usde an outdoor cover but I throw a blanket over the Spyder first

In my experience, you do not want to use a waterproof cover for winter storage in an unheated garage unless it is one of the permeable (to air) high performance, multi-layer covers made out of something like Noah 4. Condensation will almost certainly form and collect under a waterproof cover which does not have a wicking layer next to the vehicle. You are better off to use a bed sheet to keep the dust off, or simply clean the dusty Spyder in the Spring. I never cover my bikes or cars indoors unless I am working in the garage and making dust, with the exception of my wife's Falcon convertible, which gets a California Car Cover. Too hard to clean the white vinyl top on that one.

I use old flannel bed sheets.........Zero $$..... (and store spare windshields in the pillowcases.....)
Good ideas!!! You make me feel so dumb. :D I was just trying to figure what to do about my extra windshields. I was gonna have my wife sew some fleece covers. Now I may have to look for some cheap flannel sheet sets on sale.:clap::clap:

i use mine in the garage but and never have noticed ANY condesation. I do however take it off once in a while (couple times a month) to tinker on it.

I have been using my outdoor cover from I got my spyder in March when I park spyder in garage, I always wait till it cools down before I cover it and I never notice anything wrong like traces of condensation on the bike. I like it covered as it keeps the dust off, I have two outside covers (don't ask why I have two of same) and was thinking of seller one so I can get a bigger one as the stock does not go all the way down in front because of taller windshield.
