Other Exhaust Options?

I recently purchased a 13 RS which came with an Akcrapovic exhaust. Although I am happy with this one, I am looking for something a little smaller/ streamlined and will match the parts and wheels that I will be getting chromed out soon. I am interested in possibly the two brothers "black series"? Any thoughts on this one? Any other recommendations? Thanks for your help on advance.

choices, choices..!!

there are a great number of pipes out there. I would go to "you tube" and search spyder exhausts. There you will see videos of the pipes installed and sounds as well. Not a true sound but you will get the idea...good luck...we have the Hindle and love it...

I think that this yoshimura sounds great on this spyder!! It has a nice growl, but not too loud. I ran one on my sport bike and they are good quality.

*** anyone interested in a 4 month old, 560 miles, akcrapovic exhaust?? ***

That's my Spyder and I have to say I've really liked the Yoshimura. The only problem that hasn't gone away with some miles is some fairly loud popping on deceleration (Lamont's suggestion was just keep the throttle open! :joke:) and am about to put in the damper insert to see if that changes the backflow pressure to help with that. I am trying to avoid needing an air/fuel manager.

This pipe also comes chromed out, if that's the look you're going for.

I've run with the damper in since day one (I wanted the Yoshi sound, not the volume). Never seemed to make a difference, alas.

Good luck...

Nice Yoshimura/pipe. Put #9 Iridium sparkplug in #2 cylinder

The #9 Iridium sparkplug runs cooler (helps #2 cylinder), (#2 cylinder usually runs lean after putting on free flow Yoshi muffler).
Tighten each exhaust pipe/muffler clamp, feel if gaskets are leaking a little exhaust at connections.
I put a thin exhaust pipe gasket in between Yoshi flange & bolt up exhaust flange.
(I like Lamont's advice, ha. I had a sticker on my race dirt bike years ago "If in doubt, Gas It").
Enjoy the sound. Jim

Yes, I know the sound you are referring to. My Ninja had that same popping noise when decelerating. I figured it was normal :dontknow:. I do like the sound and will most likely go with the chrome version with carbon fiber cover!

Still need to try to sell the Ackrapovic in order to recoup some funds. It is still in like new condition!!! Thanks everyone for the advice.

Spark plug upgrade?

I have also been thinking about upgrading my plugs and wires. Any recommended brand names? Are they easy to install? Thanks

Aren't they a lot more expensive than the Two Bros? You might be able to sell it and get enough to buy the Two Bros.

Yes, that's my plan and hopefully I can sell it quickly. I'm really anxious to get the new pipe ordered and installed before the riding season is over. They run about the same price range depending on which single pipe series you choose.

ANY OFFERS!?!?

BajaRon sells very good sparkplug wires & Iridium sparkplugs

The #2 sparkplug & wire is easy. But #1 sparkplug & wire very difficult to change (probably let a dealer or mechanic friend do it).
BajaRon sells NGK Iridium spark plugs & heavy duty wires (a sponser on this site).
If you have a 2013 Spyder RT/ST a #9 Iridium sparkplug (will run cooler) in #2 cylinder will help, especially if you are using a freeflow muffler Yoshimura, 2 Bros or Akrapovic).
