• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Original Oil

I would say it is the blended because you need some wear in the first few hundred miles for the rings to seat properly. With full synthetic oil there is virtually no wear at all.

You should not use full synthetic oil until the 2nd or 3rd oil change because of this.

While that is commonly dispensed advice, it's really not true. Many modern engines are shipped with full synthetic these days. Rings seat within the first 50 miles or so, the oil blend doesn't matter. Some use to say that the full syn was too slippery for some bearings, but that really is a silly argument...... my engine lubricant works too good- LOL......

That said, I use dino oil for the first few thousand miles on a new engine to keep the cost down, because I prefer to change it frequently, reducing the chance of damage from break-in debris........

To answer the original question, my assumption is that the Spyder is shipped with blended oil, because it's the recommended product now, it's usually cheaper, and full synthetics are usually advertised as a selling feature.....
