• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Original Bike Spirits Spray Cleaner and Polish

Took the :spyder2: in for her 600 mile service and noticed that the dealership was using "Original Bike Spirits" to detail and clean their bikes.

Anyone ever used this stuff? Not too pricey @ $5.95 for 14 ozs.

Yes, I use Plexus on the windshield (very pricey) and Original Bike Spirits on the body of the Spyder. Great stuff!!! AFAIK it's the same stuff as the old Honda Polish.

This is the same product and formula as the discontinued Honda Spray Cleaner Polish. This product, which is and was produced by Amrep (the manufacturer and patent holder) was distributed by Honda and had Honda Logos on the can. Honda was the sole distributor of the product but held only the patent for the scent. The only difference between the Next Dimension product and the Honda Product is the that the lemon scent has been removed.

Spray Cleaner & Polish - Next Dimension quickly cleans, polishes & protects your entire vehicle. Formulated exclusively by Amrep, Spray Cleaner & Polish is the ultimate "Detailer in a can" for all Honda vehicles and motorcycles.
  • "Roadside Detailer" - cleans road grime, grease, and bugs without water.
  • Polishes paint, chrome, glass, and clear plastic.
  • Protects vinyl, plastic, and rubber
  • Blocks U.V. rays - reduces fading and cracking.
  • Repels water - beads up like wax.
  • Anti-static properties reduce dust build up.
  • Great cleaner for motorcycles.

Yes, Original Bike Spirits is the same product as the old Honda Spray Cleaner and it works very well. I don't have water in my shop so I have cleaned the entire Spyder except the windshield with this stuff many times. I like it.

Is your dealer in Mt. Morris? They are the ones who sold me on using Original Bike Spirits and it does work very well.

I have used Honda pro shine for 5+ years on complete bike and windshield. The original stuff is supposed to be the same but just doesn't seem to work as good.

Safe on windshield?

First, sorry for dragging up an old thread. I just bought a case of this stuff (12 14 oz cans for $66 free shipping on Amazon). Then, I saw this thread and a couple people said they don't use it on their windshields. The product sounds like it's safe to use on windshields:

  • Polishes paint, chrome, glass, and clear plastic.
  • Protects vinyl, plastic, and rubber

So, I'm just curious why people weren't using it there, too? I'd like to use just the one product for the whole Spyder, if possible/safe.

Thanks!

Certain products with petroleum components, alcohol, or ammonia can cloud or craze a windshield over time. It pays to use a product labelled a safe for plastics. Sometimes even those are unsuitable for clear plastics. It is a good idea to ask other users about them for windshields. In addition, most cleaning products that contain polishes leave a film behind. This includes virtually all products that say they "Protect". On a curved windshield, these bend the light and can cause a "rainbow" or "sunglasses" affect. This can be quite hard to see through under the right conditions, especially if you wear polarized sunglasses.

I have used this product for 4 years on my Wing and the last 3 months on my RT.Have used on the plastic and on the windscreen as well with no problems.I find it terrific.I in fact picked 2 more cans up today.
