• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Ordered a Blue RT-S

I've utilizied this site to conduct quite a bit of research into this machine before making my decision. The other bike I was considering was a new goldwing.

After taking in as much information from this site and others, I felt like the spYder was a better purchase for me. I anticipate heavy usage with this bike and a lot of two-up touring. It's very windy in the panhandle of texas, and I have yet to find a bike that performs well in these conditions. After test riding a demo, this bike seems to handle these winds better than any I've tried so far. Time will tell for certain.

Ordered the bike yesterday, and was told by the dealer that they think they can get one in 7-10 days...we shall see.

Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself.

Thanks for a wonderful resource.

New Blue RT

:2thumbs: :congrats: on the new :spyder2:

A little story of something that happened while my Brother -In Law was visiting.

I have Three Goldwings, My brother (in-law) and I each took 1 of the goldwings, he riding a GL1500 6 Cyl and I was riding a GL1800
6 cyl

We started early, rode about 5 hours had lunch then headed home by the time we got close to home I was pretty tired, it was a long ride and I wanted to rest for a while.

My brother was behind me, he started to pull over to the side of the road so I did the same.

The road we were on was rounded in the middle and pitched down at the side of the road.

When my brother put his foot down he did not realize how pitched the road was and the bike got off balance real quick, my brother is not a small guy and can handle that wing no problem.

But, the wing did get off balance and as I looked in my rear view mirror he went over with the bike, and was able to roll out from under it.

Another biker stopped, and the three of us lifted the bike back up.

1000+ -LBS of bike can get off balance quick especially not moving or slow speeds.

I love my wings and they will probably turn into reverse trikes one day

for now, enjoy the :spyder2:

welcome and fellow Texan. I may be wrong but I assume that your dealer is probably in Amarillo. From everything I've seen on this forum, they appear to be an excellent dealer. Even though I'm 250 miles south of Amarillo, if my RT doesn't come in pretty soon I may just cancel my order and get one in Amarillo. Hope you really enjoy the RTS.

Yes, Amarillo. They do seem to be very informed and friendly. I am still waiting to hear back from them on a more definitive expected delivery date. We shall see.

Thanks for the welcome everyone.
