Having the warranty cover the lost striker-plate on the right-side helped calibrate readings a bit more. Now I'm seemingly about +5 degrees F. for the most part, though over hot pavement, not moving, it tends to wander upwards another 5. I'm still under 600 miles so the engine is probably giving off a tad more heat during "break-in" and might contribute a tad to that reading. Much better now though.
