• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Well my new 2014 Spyder RTL SE6 Pearl White has formally been initiated.:yikes: When pulling out from a lunch stop this afternoon near Murfreesboro, TN, the bike ahead of me lost his wallet. I stopped to pick it up as well as the credit cards, etc. that were blowing around the side of the road, and wham, the bike behind me did not stop until after it hit the Spyder's left side. Scars on the left saddle bag, scar, scrapes and dents on the left fender, black plastic piece and grill in front of floor board broken. Some other scrapes on other plastic parts on the left side. I have not had a chance to look at parts prices but I am sure they are not cheap. The offender, on his 2014 Air bag Wing, has all the insurance he should need, but hate to see that happen also. He was lucky he did not hit me dead on as his air bag would have gone off and his bike would not be rideable. As far as I can tell there is no structural damage, just the outer plastic parts. Wont be home for a week so I get to ride with a damaged Spyder. Cleaned it up as good as I could. Just can't rub out what is visible.:(

Glad you're ok. That's what matters
Yes, I am fine! I am much more concerned with the gentleman that hit me. He is still riding at 87 years of age, and riding well. His sons bought him the new Wing for his 86th birthday, I believe. He was having a bad morning in more ways than that. But nothing that I think is age related. He rides 3 or 4 days a week for long distances. Really a great rider. He feels so bad about what happened, that is why I am worried about him.

I've seen this type of "incident" hundreds of times...
The traffic in front of you starts moving; so do you...

...only you don't see it when they stop unexpectedly! :yikes:

Glad to hear that both of you are okay, and the bike can be easily made to look like new again!

...And your bike is now, "Pre-disasterred"... :2thumbs:

Can't remember where this happened, but we pulled into a hotel for the night and noticed a bunch of Harleys parked there too. Went out to look at them and saw one that had the front fender scratched up and out of wack. Had to hear the story about that little mishap.

Turns out, the pack was pulling into the hotel, Mr. HD told me he was looking somewhere else and rear ended his buddy. Buddy was in a hospital in Armpit Nowhere, his bike trashed. HD was proud to say they made his bike ridable and will be continuing the trip.

Crap happens. Always watch you back. Glad you have a Spyder, it could have been worse than a couple panels.

Sorry to hear..!!

am glad you are both ok and only physical damage to the vehicles. Those are fixable and insurance helps bodies not so much...have a safe trip home..

Saw something like this on a ride from Philly to the Pentagon to escort some granite for the Philly memorial.

Guy in front of me wasn't paying attention and rammed the bag of the bike in from of him. Both riders stayed shiny side up but the bag skittered across the road and got run over by a big rig.

Glad you are okay. It's the only thing that matters.

Thank you for posting; am glad you're OK. I've less than a year of Spyder driving and you've given me another "heads up" to stash away.
