• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Only shows the AUX mode

Hi gang,
I've only had the bike 20 hours, but I need some help.
I attached the 30 pin ipod plug, and I've tried a shuffle, then a 8gb nano, and finally my iphone 5s with the lightening adapter and the Spyder only shows AUX mode no matter what.

The very first time I attached the shuffle it showed iPod on the display and seemed to work. I know I went into the RECC settings and was looking around, set the clock and the date, but I don't think I did anything else.

Can you point me in the right direction?
Thanks,
Dan

Mine does the same thing!! It will play the music on my Iphone 7 and Ipod but only shows AUX mode on display. Unable to control music like it shows on quick start manual on a Ipod, also.

Alright, I tried unplugging with the bike running and it didn't change from AUX.

It won't change from AUX unless you select one of the other modes, ie FM, AM etc. I use my Iphone for music and it only works with the old adapter, if I try to use the the one with the single round pin it won't go into Ipod mode. It only works with the flat connector.

Ahhhhh, only have had the bike for 20 hours..... The memories of those days... just like today:thumbup:, never gets old:yes: Glad you got things figured out. Enjoy your new ride!!!!

Final Update. The dealer replaced the radio and the iPod finally shows up like it should. Consider this resolved! Seeya at SpyderFest!

This seems to be a common problem with the Ipod and radio. My bike did the same thing AUX only after 5 trips and a great service department. Many parts after part changed they found a bad wire harness. Only after a service manager that said I will not quit until I find it. Thanks Extreme Power Sports Columbus Ga

I have a 2010 RT and have used an IPOD Nano since the Spyder was new. It always showed AUX but I was able to use radio controls to go forward and back on my music. I now have Gen 7 IPOD and a brand new cord from BRP and nothing is working! We have just begun going through the elimination process but I noticed Gen 7 wasn't mentioned on the compatibility list.

My 2013RT-s just started doing this yesterday. Exactly the same problem. Gues a trip to the dealer on Tuesday is not my fun next week.

Went to Dealer today. Tried my I-pod and wire connector in another Spyder. No Love. We are going to get a new wire connector and go from there. This may be one of those long stories for a minor problem.

Make sure only the iPod is plugged in Try Pressing the mode button until you get to the media screen. Then, push the set button until it shows the iPod.

Did a hard reset on the I-Pod today and retried the I-Pod in my Spyder. Everything is working PERFECTLY. I don't know if this is the permanent fix but I am a happy camper now. Try a hard reset on your device and see if it fixes these problems. Hit Menu and middle button at same time and hold until Apple emblem appears.
