At one time I thought if I was in a hurry and didn't really want to talk to people I could just keep my helmet on. I can report that tactic doesn't work either. :roflblack:

That's actually really funny...when I go to pick up dinner on the bike, I do leave my helmet on...and I have earplugs on too...usually, if people start talking to me, I just point to my head and say I can't hear as I have earplugs and a helmet on...this usually sinks in.

When at gas stations, I try not to look around...there is always some moron who will come up and say something like 'I gotta me one of those'...yeah, whatever...go buy one and leave me alone...

Ah, the missing piece is the earplugs. That should be easy enough to fake. :thumbup: To be honest, it is usually the people I am riding with on their 2 wheelers that start their bikes and begin yelling at me that we have to get going. That has been extremely effective so far.

Yeah, just tap your helmet and say you can't hear them...makes people go quiet very quickly...as far as earplugs go, I use these...work GREAT! Highly recommended...use many times before have to replace and with 200 pair, these will last a very, very, very long time...

Thanks for the info on the plugs. On longer trips I usually listen to my MP3 player through my EarFuze earplugs. It is probably time I start wearing ear plugs all the time.

Interesting...I use these plugs and will use the speakers from my G4 (connect an ipod directly)...get music nicely and the plugs drown out a lot of the background/pipe noise...

I remember I rode about 70 miles last year without plugs and my ears were ringing when I got to my destination...my sentiment is that anyone who doesn't wear plugs of any kind doesn't care about their hearing...the studies are pretty clear on this...ouch! I'm not too well versed on the EarFuze, but I'm sure they're far better than nothing...

The ones I use really help yet you can still hear music, car horns, etc...really functional product....

I am not going as far as to condeming BMW riders because they dont wave and I agree that it would be good if all bikers didnt wave because of saftey reasons but thats not the way it is. If another rider waves at me I try to wave back and I do think a simple wave when it is safe to do shows a mutual feeling of friendship to other riders and in todays world being friendly to one another is a good thing, and I dont think that it is immature to feel this way.

That being said if I could ask a question in a fun joking way and not trying to be rude I would like to know which finger do sports biker raise.

No body waves here, except the silver and black. They wave you over, to tell you what they think of you. Sometimes it would be nice just to be told, girls ride three wheels or you are wearing yellow clothes. Usually not, its always to give you their number and when you can meet up with them and there gang, or if you aren't bothered by their remarks and don't want to meet their gang, please just send them a letter.

ONCE NOT SO LONG AGO - I pulled next to a guy on a BMW we stood looking at each others ride I nodded and smiled in approval at the yellow clad dawf. He slowly removed his helmet and smirked at my 2010 Vegas White RS-S with matte black wheels. I walked over to his bike grabbed the grips and rolled it down the hill into a 7ft ditch. He ran over to me at the edge of the hill, but he was to late. He was clearly upset and in shock. He began to say something as he put his hand on my sleeve so I grabed his arm and put a hand on his back and escorted him down the hill and threw him in the ditch with his bike like one big yellow mass. He yelled to me as I walked back up the hill and mounted the spyder he said - WHY! WHY! WHY! I said WHAT? he said WHY!...WHY HAVE YOU DONE THIS? I said the reasons should be clear....you are yellowish looking smirking bmw riding midget and I am 6'4'' 250lbs spyder rider. After the explanation he understood and said thanks.

You've got 4" and 30lbs on me....I want you on my team! Yesterday a guy gave a thumbs down in a subaru as he was passing. I flipped him off of course and called him ignorant as he drove by.
