Checked a couple of online parts sellers and both had ridiculous shipping charges. I want to buy a bushing for my frunk where it latches at the top. I imagine this bit weighs 3 oz and one place (powersportswarehouse.com) wanted $21.46 for shipping and the other $13. Any places where I can buy genuine parts without being gouged for shipping?

Never mind... got to thinking a site sponsor might work and indeed Pitbull has very reasonable shipping costs. I still can't believe $21.46 to ship a bushing!

Pitbull Powersports, a site sponsor wants $6.99 to ship and your place wants $13.15. Cost of bushing is the same.

Yep, me too, for more than the Spyder as well!

Problem is if you only need a single part like a bushing you are always going to get nicked on the shipping. Takes time to pull the part, pack it, ship it, they are not in the business to lose money.

Most dealers will not charge shipping on a small item like that, thus an OEM dealer is usually going to be less for the nickel and dime parts.

cheapcycleparts.com. But if you have local dealers and they don't have the part, they should be able to order it with no shipping involved (if they are any good) we did this all the time. Even if we traded out with other dealers...:thumbup:

I have found some online dealers make money on inflated shipping charges... it improves their profit margin... IMHO - IT DOES PAY TO SHOP AROUND...

For a $7 part, I am not going to be able to take off work for half a day to ride over to the dealer and order. For something substantial, I would prefer to deal with my dealer. I shouldn't have to explain why buying a bushing should cause time off from my business. I am spread kind of thin, as is.

Don't say cheap cycle parts, cause they aren't it. I just bought a battery strap from our not so local dealer. Had to pay shipping to them then to me. It was still cheaper than cheap cycle parts.:lecturef_smilie: Paying the shipping was still cheaper than driving there and back to get it myself.

Try Brp parts direct . Parts are same price and you only have to pay for shipping one time ,no middle man. You also get it a couple
of days quicker than going thru a dealer.

It,s a game.
Not always the shipping company.
Some people make the price on the part attractive by keeping it low and under cut someone else then make the differance up in shipping. Very easy to add to shipping cost :yikes:
