A couple of nights ago, here in Granby N.Y there was a fire. A metal structure with 5,000 to 8,000 crates of onions caught fire.
First, I would like to commend the firefighters from the 30 different Companies that responded for the job they did in fighting this fire. It took place in a rural area with limited water. Tankers were used to haul millions of gallons of water to the fire. The Old Saw Mill Pond at the end of my driveway was a main source for water supplies. At least One pumper was at the pond from about 6:00pm. I noticed the pumper was gone at 3:00am.
Most of the firefighters were from local volunteer departments giving their time to serve the communities they represent along with surrounding communities. They all deserve a big THANK YOU for the job they did.
