There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. ONION NEWS - 30 ALARM FIRE - THIS IS TRUE

A couple of nights ago, here in Granby N.Y there was a fire. A metal structure with 5,000 to 8,000 crates of onions caught fire.

First, I would like to commend the firefighters from the 30 different Companies that responded for the job they did in fighting this fire. It took place in a rural area with limited water. Tankers were used to haul millions of gallons of water to the fire. The Old Saw Mill Pond at the end of my driveway was a main source for water supplies. At least One pumper was at the pond from about 6:00pm. I noticed the pumper was gone at 3:00am.

Most of the firefighters were from local volunteer departments giving their time to serve the communities they represent along with surrounding communities. They all deserve a big THANK YOU for the job they did.

Did anybody think to bring some sausages and peppers to this cookout? ;) :joke:
Seriously:   to the volunteers that protect all of us!

We also deal with a Volunteer Fire Department where I live. When I needed an ambulance about a year ago--they were here in about five minutes. They are good people here. The Chief was in one of my classes at the university, so I had some real life experience with getting to know someone in that realm of work.

I thought about running steer in one end of the building and having steak sandwiches come out the other end.

Thankfully nobody was killed or injured. and it was insured. Est. $5 million in losses.

It is about 4 miles from the house as the wind blows. Today all I can smell is fried onions. It is becoming sickening to smell!!

Wow..!!

30 alarm..glad they got it under control...must have been awesome smelling fire stirring folks appetite..!! :roflblack:

These volunteer firefighters have to buy thier own gear, equipment and never recieve any sort of tax break....... All without pay. I just wish there was a holiday to thank the heros that do it for free.......

This really p*$$ed me off this morning

A local city fire department (theses guys get paid) that sent firefighters to the fire, has filed a grievance against the city because they only had 7 firefighters at the fire house & the union contract calls for 8. Now that is dedication.
