• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

General Norman Schwarzkopf died today at age 78. "Stormin' Norman" was a soldiers soldier. Although he had a quick temper (much like another great General, Patton), he got the job done. He was commander of forces and the architect of the ground war in the first Iraq war. He later became CinC of Central Command based at McDill AFB Florida.

The one thing that stands out to me as I think of him was his absolute insistence that goals and objectives be clearly defined before action taken.

Yes he did. And if you were incapable of meeting those goals and objectives you were replaced. Something that was rarely heard of before the 1st Gulf War and unfortunatly since. West Point and the other acadamies turned out a lot of good officers before and after WWII up until the late 60's.

To answer Bob's question, we have very few good top leaders now. And with the change to political correctness being taught in our military acadamies, the movement away from teaching real history in our schools, outright cheating, scandles at the top levels of command etc., I don't see leaders like Generals Schwarzkopf, Powell, Chuck Horner, or even Patton, Eisenhower or Bradley coming out of the acadamies anytime soon. Ok, off my soapbox.

It's just to bad

It's Just to bad that there are NO others with his abalities out there now
to step in and keep our country safe from the crazzzys

I will get on mine for a little. Most people do not remember GEN Curtis LeMay. He made SAC the most powful deterant in the world. He was a lot like the subject of this thread. He had a way of making things happen. Thre was more then one person told to find a new job or go home or ELSE.
New leaders, I am scared to death. I do not see any.
The USAF has started a PC scene for objectal material in the office. One person was ordered to remove a sexual photo from his desk and take it home. It was his teen daughter, wearing a sport bra at some event. There was even talk of removing "nose art" from WW ll at the museum. A book of nose art was removed from a shelf in a office. I think that stopped, but for how long.
