There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Old rider, new Spyder, exhaust and sway bar questions

Questions

New member
I've been riding for 45 years, mostly Harleys, and have just bought a 2013 Spyder. In talking with other riders and looking at some other Spyders, the Two Brothers High Performance exhaust system seems to be popular. I have also been told to put a different sway bar on the machine. I would sure like some feedback on both of these add-ons before investing. Does the engine have to be re-mapped with the exhaust change? Where best in the North Alabama area to get the exhaust work and sway bar work done? Thanks for your replies.

Cant help you with the exhaust but go for the sway bar for sure! Don't install it first thing though, ride it awhile then put it on so you can really tell the difference! Good luck and welcome aboard!!

Don't know..!!

how far you want to go with the exhaust. The more high performance the more you need a air/fuel control module. Two Brothers make units that bolt on no changes needed. As to the sway bar BajaRon's make a world of difference. You will only notice this if you have ryden with out one for some time.

Welcome to the spyder world, this site and congrats on your new ryde...:nopic::nopic:

i just put a new pipe on mine today and went with this one yoshimura and i like it a lot many other people on this site put this one on also, and gave good reviews so thats why i got thus one,not too loud but sounds good to me.:chat:

I also came over to the three wheel side this year, rode Harleys and goldwings. I was a little upset when I had to change over to the three wheels in the beginning, but you couldn't get me off the spyder now ! once you get the "hang" of these things, they are a hoot. get used to handling the spyder then without hesitation get a Baja ron swaybar {he has an add on this site}very easy to install yourself, even if your not a piston head. the bar just enhances the "hoot". I missed the Harley rumble but what are going to do, added a joshimura muffler for a little rumble, no need for any mapping. can't help you with the Alabama service, i'm a yankee from Pittsburgh,pa !!! good luck:lecturef_smilie::lecturef_smilie:

Im in Haleyville AL and I can install any item you want. I even have a 2013 RT and a 2013 ST that each have all the items your mentioned already installed so you could test ride them and see what you like. I even do Laser Alignment. I just do installs so after you figure out what you like you can order and then we can install it all here at my place.

I have the two brothers on my RT and the Akrapovik on my ST. And you can see what accessories you like also. I think I have most of the accessory items on both spyders.
I highly recommend the Sway bar from Ron and I also have the two brothers on my RT. No mapping is required.

Just let me know if your interested. I do the work by appointment so email me at [email protected] or call me at 205-471-6064

I actually have a new in the box 2013 RT Swaybar kit from Ron here at my place. Im sure we can let you pay Ron and he can just send another one to me to replace this one. That way you wouldn't have to bring the bar with you.

So that being said, I can install the sway bar and if you wanted or needed the alignment we could do it now..

:welcome: !!

I can't speak to the exhaust question, but I definitely recommend the BajaRon anti-sway bar. But I agree with other posters who say to drive yours without it for a bit, especially on the twisties. Then try out one with it (nice offer from Rabtech) and you'll know what we mean.

Have fun!

Anybody that has ridden a spyder before is welcome to take mine down the road. I want people to know what a perfect aligned spyder is like. There maybe a few that can benefit from the test ride. And I'm sure there are plenty that are riding perfectly aligned spyders. But how do you know? That was originally my problem. I had people that had been riding spyders a lot and were telling me mine was perfect. And I knew it wasn't. And guess what, IT WAS 51MM out of alignment. That is nearly 2 inches out.

Tupperware Panels

I bought a 2013 :spyder2: RT in July. I received the recall notice and took it to a dealer in my area and had that installed. On the way home (about a 50 mile ride) the right mirror started flapping in the breeze. It turned out the little spring had lost some of it's tension and was not holdin the front of the mirror in place. I got it fixed and today I notice that the panel where it says "Can Am" on the right side is also loose. My question is are these panels also held in place the same way the morrors are and how does one fix this problem or do I go back to a dealer? I believe this is the panel that was pulled to do the recall.
Thanks for any help.

The manual has a great section on panel removal; read it!! You don't want to lose that sucker!! nojoke
The mirror; those parts in there are replaceable... Contact your dealer...
