• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

So the 998 sounded robust and after 5 years got to know the sound of the 2 cylinder motor and loved it ...now the 3 cylinder ACE motor purrs but it is a load purr as if there is a leak on the exhaust manifold so I am confused and concerned is this the normal sound the ACE motor makes or am I not used to it and should not be comparing the sounds as they are very different motors.

Can't help

Congratulations on the new ryde. Can't help cause I love the 998 but have had triples and they were all wimpy sounding maybe not the triumph trident...:dontknow:

:agree: Pretty much no matter what you do to them/with them, the 1330's feel a tad lazy & sound a whole lot like an over-revving sewing machine... :dontknow:
And now that I've had the ECU re-flash done, my V-twin RT not only sounds a whole lot better & feels/rides a whole lot more excitingly, but it also goes just as hard & is pretty much as economical as a stock 1330 too. :ohyea: :2thumbs: So I'm sticking with my V-twin cos it's just more EXCITING on sooo many counts, & if that's what you're after.... :ohyea:

Change out the stock exhaust and dump the cat for a more robust feel & sound..!

That’s what I did to my 16 RT and I can tell you that made a huge difference in how the machine sounds and runs ...!
Just my opinion... Enjoy your bike.

:congrats: on your update. To me, the 1330 sounds a bit like a diesel chugging. No air sounds.

Thats the sound just like a diesel chugging so I suppose I was expecting a more sophisticated quieter sound being a inline 3 cylinder well maybe as someone suggested dump the stock exhaust. A friend of mine has an F3 and was surprised that she had changed out the exhaust ...now I know why.

When we hit the freeway and I crank it--Linda (on her 998) is impressed with how fast I wind it out and kind of leave her in the dust. Just takes a bit of getting used to when coming over from a 998.
