OK - time for some laughs and target practice -

I have just installed Lamont’s new Heim links (To reduce the frequency between the ball heads clagging up)

Ran the RT up on the ramps which should be OK to R&R the links. It’s a bit fiddly to get at the bolts/nuts with that bit less clearance, but manageable……and of course, it needs a 13mm wrench, which is the one wrench not in my kit that I took down to the floor with me to save getting up and down. I finally found one, removed the old link, and after a lot of fiddling got the new link in to the confined space and torqued it up. OK……Time for the left side……hang on, why are there two Lamonster links sitting under here? Yep, yep, yep, I had exasperated myself soooooo much trying to find the cursed 13mm wrench that I had picked up the old link and reinstalled it:yikes: …..mind you, it fitted perfectly :roflblack:

A few choice words were uttered (well, maybe more than a few, and maybe louder than muttered, as my wife cam out to see if I had broken a limb……or spilt my beer), then out with the new/old link, and in with the Lamonster link, which of course, was even more difficult to get in than the previous redundant install. I then removed the second link and tossed both old links quite some distance from where I was working. The second new link went in relatively easily.

The old links did have the final word, however……I took my shoes off to go inside, as as I crossed the garage, I didn’t see that one of the little buggers had bounced off a wall and was right where I took a step. My wife didn’t bother coming out to check on the noise this time :roflblack:

It’s 11am……I’m ready to have that beer now :2thumbs:

Besides, he's already had his second beer (well, he's had MY beer :banghead: .... making it HIS second ) so he's already on his way to not caring at all! Only another dozen or so to go! :cheers:

Yeah, but it wasn’t small stuff at the time, K80.:roflblack: I was up and down 5 times trying to find some way of getting that nut on the end of the bolt in the confined space. I should have simply broken out the floor jack and stands for the second go, but I was DETERMINED to prove I could install it as it was. That’s what made me feel REALLY stupid :roflblack::roflblack:

Feel ya bro! Was doing my first oil change on my 2019 F3 Ltd. Had a new funnel in my left hand, ready to pour in first quart with my right, when my daughter called. Had all the tupperware off, so all the guts were exposed. Listening to Bill Burr podcast on my phone, (he's the ****) reached over to answer the call, and didn't realize my brand spankin' new funnel had a clear seal tab covering the drainage vent. Yep, a whole quart of Amsoil Synthetic all over me, my new WHITE LEATHER Utimate Seat, and into the innards of my bike, down to the concrete floor. My daughter thought I got shot with the cussin' and screaming, bent down to grab an old towel and slipped on the new oil, banging me knee, shoulder and head on the way down. Took about 4 hours to clean up everything and still hadn't finished changing the oil, and now down a quart!:cus::banghead:

Anyone that wrenches their own rides has a brain fart occasionally.
A friend & I were changing the rear tire on my sport tourer. Very shallow center drop on rim so a struggle to mount. After getting the new tire on we realized it was mounted backwards!!. We took it off again and somehow (no drugs/alcohol in use) we put it on backwards a 2nd time!!!. Third time was a charm but we lost a few pounds of sweat before done.

Yep, yep, yep…..a mate told me years ago - if you find yourself getting flustered, stop what you are doing immediately and have a break and a cup of coffee to settle down - the trouble is, you forget that advice when you get flustered :roflblack:
