• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

ok does anybody know why my vss went off?

i got on my 2013 rts early sunday morning, started went to get gas then when i started it back up the engine light went on
and flashed the vss and went into limp mode. i went back home and parked in garage.
so i get up this morning to go to work and ride the bike in so i can bring to my dealer which is 5 blocks away, well no lights
nothing wrong. i will still bring it in when they open at 10am but i would like to know what happened, does anyone have any
thoughts (gee that's a loaded question on this forum), any good idea then of what might be wrong?

Did you happen to spin the tire a little bit? :dontknow:
One of the easiest ways to topple a Spyder on it's side, is to be backing up, and crank the bars hard to one side or the other.
Could she have been warning you about an impending crisis?

All i did was drive 1 mile to gas station everything was ok, turn off, fill up & then when i started it back up lights were
on. kept on the mile back home. started up this morning rode 5 miles to work and all is fine.

Mine did it in the middle of Wyoming last month. Book said to take the key out for a bit so I did that and took a break on a river bank. Restarted it and no lights so I rode on to Red Lodge Mt.. No issues since and it's been a few thousand miles.

Good point, Bob! That IS one of the weakest points on these awesome machines.

What about tire pressure? Could that effect it?

I had this problem last week on my 2015 rtl, read elsewhere on this forum to check plug connection under the seat, guess what, it was disconnected. Plugged back together and no more VSS light on display.

If you had checked for codes before you shut the Spyder down you'd have a much better idea of what was going on. Once you turn the key off though only active codes will be shown. Your dealer can retrieve the "occurred" codes with BUDS.
