Question I have a 2012 RSS that i would like to ride as long as weather is permissible and I had my 600 mile oil change ($335.00 what a shock) I am not close to next oil change and was wondering if I should change my oil (this time I will try it myself is this hard to do?) and use all climate oil ( they put in summer blend) or will it be fine to ride this winter until i am due for next change which would be sometime in March. Live in Illinois and weather can get cold at times, has been down in the mid 30's last couple of nights. Just looking for some answers with the amount of money these things cost don't need any problems that I could prevent.

There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I skip the dealer every other oil change.
I do buy the oil from my dealer so he can't get too p____ off
I let him do the big ones like the 14400 which is not cheap.

AMSOIL 10W40
Not sure what oil your dealer put in your Spyder so it would be hard to answer the question. If you know the brand of the oil the dealer installed you can probably find out the Pour Point of the oil by going to there website. As the AMSOIL site sponsor I can tell you and all the folks that use the AMSOIL 10W 40 that the "Pour Point" ( the temperature at which the oil will no longer pour) is -51 Deg F.
Wether or not to change your oil at this point is up to you. If the dealer put in a synthetic it is certainly better than a Petroleum product.
