• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I just had my first service about 400 miles ago. I am still smelling oil burning. Is this normal?

 Nope...
It is possible that some oil got spilled underneath the Tupperware. Why not pull some panels, and see if you can find where the smell is coming from?

dealer most likely had some oil that caught underneath the bike when they pulled the plugs. sometimes you can look through the hole where you left or right foot is and see it with a flashlight. you may be able to get under the bike and reach your hand up there and feel if there is oil there.

if you see oil I'd take it back to the dealer and make them be the ones to clean it up.

Sounds like dealer initiated the problem. Have them fix it, unless its just a simple wipe up thing.

..Yes, absolutely if whoever put it in was sloppy and got it all over the place..........Not un-common at some dealerships......The REAL techs don't do the menial stuff ......the High School drop-outs do this :dontknow::dontknow::dontknow:, But you are still paying $125.00 an hour :gaah:......Mike :bbq:

Please check your oil level as well. They may not have tightened the plugs all the way and you could have a small leak that would allow oil onto the motor or exhaust and cause the burning smell as well. If it were just a minor sloppy job, the oil should have been gone by now. Look deeper for the cause and let the dealership know about it as well.

Interesting. ...

Check oil level..if overfilled then or before many time the excess ends up in the air box and eventually leaks out. if it does over the pipes it will cause a burnt oil smell...:gaah:

I had the same problem at the start of this year. Took it to the dealer in March and when I got home had oil dripping on my garage floor. I called and complained and they came out and picked it up to check if it was a spill or leak. Turned out to be a messy draining job but I lost a lot of confidence in the dealer and it made me check my oil every time I stopped to make sure it wasn't the Spyder. That was my 6th oil change in 12,000 miles and I never had an issues before.
