• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Oil pressure light.

When I turn the key on my spyder (not turning on the engine), my oil light and parking brake lights are on, but when I start the engine only my parking brake light stays on. Does that mean the oil light going on is irrelevant because it goes away when I start the engine?

This is normal - the sensor does not see any oil pressure because the pump is not pumping any oil since the engine is not fired up.

Once the engine is started the oil sensor light on the cluster should go off between 3-5 seconds. If it stays on longer then 5 seconds, shut it down immediately. In that case it could be just a failed sensor, or something as serious as a failed oil pump which could do real damage to the engine.

Cheers.

One more reason that the oil light gos on with the key on without the engine running, like on cars it's also a bulb check.
