oil pressure light f3s

have my new f3s on the road and have one problem as you know when you turn the ignition switch on the panel goes thru a self test of the system then all the lights go out except if you have the park brake set.at this point there is no oil pressure light on so how do we know if we have oil pressure when we fire up the engine?? page 99 of owners manual states if after an oil change start the engine and check if the oil pressure light goes out if not shut down the engine the dealer said that how it is well folks anyone have comments thank you for any help

When you turn your key on before you start the motor your oil light should be on telling you there is no oil pressure [motor not running]
all your warning light should be on
That is how you can tell each light is working
They should all go off when you start the engine
That is how all vehicles work

My 1330 works the way Don says. My manual says if after changing the oil and restarting the engine the oil light doesn't go out in 5 seconds shut it down immediately. I watched like a hawk a week ago when I started it after filling with oil and light went out in 3-4 sec max. Once the oil pump has been reprimed after an oil change the oil pressure light should go out in a second or two after engine starts, maybe just a tad longer on a cold weather start.

I checked mine and also checked with my dealer, the oil pressure light will only come on in initial self test or if there is no oil pressure with the ENGINE RUNNING. The ECM controls this function.
