• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Oil plug bolt size

Anyone know the size of that bolt for 15 RS?
The bolt you would undo to drain the oil?
Thank you in advance.

One is an M12 and the other an M14. Both use a 6mm hex drive on late model RS.

Thank you and do you know what approximate length of the bolt is?
It says m12x1.5 but that doesn’t tell me the length.
It’s been so long, I don’t remember... but I wanna replace with hex head bolt.

If you are not planning on using a bolt with a magnet in it like Gold Plugs, you have two options:

1. Take to old ones out and measure them.
2. Use the old machinist rule of thumb. The length should be at least 1.5 times the diameter.

Little checking.....

Many use the Gold Plugs and they come specific to the spyder. I use the Dimple Plugs which is another manufacturer. You could also check auto supply stores as they carry a wide assortment of plugs with hex heads....

Oil plugs

I have heard the hex plugs tend to strip after so much use, so i decided to switch mine to the Lamonster drain plugs, will change them on my next oil change.:2thumbs:

Thank you for the inputs.
I didn’t want to get magnetic ones.
Napa seems to have enough universal plug for 14m-1.5 with 13m head but not 12m-1.5.
Most are either 12m 1.25 or 1.75.
Would either one cause any problem?
