• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

oil leak...am I hoping for too much

My spyder was stored for the winter in someone's garage. When I left that garage, there were no oil spots on the floor, nor were there any noticed where I used to park (another garage). I drove for about 30 miles, and then parked it at my new/old garage, which I did not have previously. This morning I noticed to small oil spots within inches of each other. On a quick visual, the drops were coming from the crossmember of my 2008. All I'm wondering is, is it possible that the leaks were from seals which shrunk during the colder months, and with riding, the oil pressure rose and forced some oil out before the seals swelled back to normal? I'll take it out later today, and see what happens when I park it.

 The crossmember isn't leaking: what is? :dontknow:
But I do think that you're right: a bit of a dried-out seal, that just needs a bit of coaxing to get back with the program.
I'd keep an eye on it; but it doesn't seem to be worth fretting over,
Good luck!

I did not mean the leak was from the crossmember, only that the oil was dripping onto it, and then from it. As far as where it's actually coming from, if it continues to leak, I'll just take it to the dealer; I happen to be one of the lucky ones that actually trusts his dealer. I'm heading out now for a ride. Thanks

:D I know... I was just wondering if you had investigated any of the "bits" that are uphill from that point.
Honestly: I'd ride it around for a bit, before showing up at the dealership. This may just stop on it's own... (HOPEFULLY!!)
