FYI.
BRP part # 420956745 has “Rotax RB-X341” stamped on it as those who’ve done their own oil change will have noticed. This part also appears to be used in the new Rotax-engined Buell 1125R and is now used in the Aprilia 1000cc bikes. However older Aprilias need a new end-cap (as per the Spyder) to take the new, longer filter. The older, shorter filter used in the Aprilias and other BRP products is still used (K&N KN152, HiFlo HF152 etc.). Another K&N filter (KN556) is a replacement for BRP products, but not the RB-X341.

There appears to be several after-market manufacturers of the older, shorter BRP filter. Now that Aprilia & Buell both use the newer, longer filter, they may be more readily available in other than BRP boxes.
My reason in looking for HiFlo or K&N is that the local bike shop that I get all my bike parts from gets me either brand for my other bikes.
