There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Oil Consumption

Hisst

I am very disappointed in my 2016 RLT for using a Half quart of oil in 2500 miles. This is the first bike that I need to carry oil with me if I am out traveling. I have had 47 new bikes with a total of 1,669,000 traveled miles an not one have consumed this amount of oil in the life of there engines. I have always used Amsoil and changed every 10,000 miles I hope this will change. Hisst

If you are checking your oil level using the correct process it is out of character for the 1330 to use oil. If you are not checking your oil level using the correct process this may account for the apparent usage.

so you go another 2500 miles and put in another half a quart?

Are you checking the oil correctly as stated above?

Mine has not used any oil and I have now 21k on my RTL while using amsoil too

My 2015 RT used about a 1/2 quart in the first 2,000 miles, but has not used any more had it serviced at the 3,000 mile mark and have about 7,000 on it now. I attributed it to the engine breaking in.

Really...🤔

If as stated you are measuring the oil correctly that egine will not use any oil. If you have never had this type of sump system on your other bikes then you may not be aware of the oil measuring needed. This is the first motorcycle I have had with this system and it took me a while to remember how to get the correct readings. Now if in fact you are doing it correctly and you are using that much oil you need to find the problem or have it to the dealer and let them fix it.

OIL CONSUMPTION

I also have the 1330 engine ..... and haven't added any oil between oil changes ...... Until you said you did, I haven't heard of anyone else with this engine burning or blow-by of oil ...... Mike

:agree: with Ron... :dontknow:
These engines haven't shown any tendencies to burn oil.
My 2014 RT-L never needed to have even a drop added.

1330

Did not realize you had a 1330. half a quart in breaking in is not excessive. I would watch it, check it at every fill up, and look for leaks and drips. Ann has added maybe 3 ounces between oil changes in 118,000 miles. This engine is very good.

I just got back from a 9100 mile ride out to the Pacific coast and back and never used a drop of oil. But I do need to change the oil now.

Another vote on the 1330 does not use oil pile.

If it is an "oil check" issue that should solve your problem. If not, monitor it well and notify dealer. It would sound like something is wrong.

It was a trip I'll never forget. We traveled through 19 states in 28 days and the entire trip was almost rain free. Sites we saw, Mt. Evans, Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, Royal Gorge, Continental Divide several times, 4 corners, Hwy 50 which is the lonest highway in America, Reno, Lake Tahoe, Yosemite N.P., Pacific coast highway, Golden Gate Bridge, Deception Pass, Coulee Dam, Flathead Lake, Glacier N.P., Cody, Wy., Yellowstone and old faithful, wild mustangs in Lovell, Theodore Roosevelt state Park, Sturgis, before the rally, Wall Drug. I'm sure I left a few attractions out.

All that's missing is Hank Snow singing "I've Been Everywhere."
