Off to Deals Gap and the NC mountains tuesday

Time to get some riding in. Leaving Tuesday for 10 days in heaven. Gonna run the Cherohola Skyway, of course the Gap, Clingmans Dome and Warwoman road. Its always been fun on the sportbikes, so I cant wait to try the Spyder on some of my favorite roads......:2thumbs::2thumbs:

If you still have any strength left after all of that, check out Wayah Rd out of Franklin, NC - you won't want to miss that one!!!!!! Also, the stretch of Hwy 28 between Franklin and Hwy 19 is GREAT! Perhaps you can do the loop once you leave the Gap, go down 28 to Franklin, pick up Wayah Rd and then head south to Warwoman road. First time I road Warwoman Rd, my riding buddy said he wasn't aware they had named a road in S.C. after his exwife!!.....:clap:

+1 on what docoru said about the Gap. If possible, run it during the week. Weekends are crawling with leo's and they will stop you for the least little infraction. It's still fun to hang out at the store however, if you can only be there on the weekend!!

I got 2 tickets last time up there on the Busa, one for 10 over the limit and one for open visor without glasses. It was foggy and i was trying to clear my visor, but they had no sense of humor. Same cop within 20 minutes.:gaah::gaah::gaah:

Wahay road is awesome. I live in Franklin half of the year and run all of the good roads. The gap is just for fun and to meet up with people. Also, Highlands road up to the top is sweet.

I just got back from Deals Gap. OMG, the Spyder handled those turns fantastically. Just be prepared for LOTS of questions and stares. My Spyder was the center of attention.

Sounds good. I will be up there for about 10 days. Leaving Fl at 0400 on Tues morning. Wish I was rding up, but I have way too much stuff to take up to my house, so I have to trailer her up. But once I get to Franklin, its Spyder time rain or shine.

Thanks, I'm gonna take it pretty easy...ahem... for the first run thru. I have been riding up there for about 6 years on bikes, but boy is this different. Got some riding tips from docdoru earlier today, so I will try them out. I guess I better go and pick up a spare relay before I leave. AAA hates coming up into the mountains to tow you home ( from experience)

My local dealer had 3 in stock, so I left one for someone else and grabbed 2.

No Problem. I was pretty whipped from the drive up, so I took a short run last night. Today is family day and the rest of the time is free to ride.
