• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

OF SPYDERS AND PETS

GUESS WE'RE ODD PERSONS OUT!!

Well, I know neither Bruiser or I are normal, whatever that is! Unless I missed it, everyone so far has dogs. We love dogs, but after our Maxx passed away several years ago, we decided we were going to stay with cats. Our four allow us to live here, so they can be fed, have shelter, and be loved. They are all rescue kitties. Cooper (11) and Sassy (10) were both from the Feral Cat Rescue. We got them when they were a year old (a year apart, of course). Ivan (pictured) is the littlest bit, and we rescued him from the local (kill) shelter. Christmas Eve 2009, Bruiser was doing some last minute shopping. Two women came out of the pet supplies store next door to where he had been shopping. Long story short, they were just going to drop the cat they had. Bruiser took the cat, shelter was closed, so GC (garage cat) stayed in the garage for two weeks because he had fleas and wasn't fixed. As soon as Christmas/New Year's was over, we took him to the vet to have him neutered and treat him for fleas. We advertised him for adoption, but - he's no. 4 in the household. We're guessing both Ivan and Christian, formerly known as GC, are about 4 years old.

And, no, none of them ride with us. If we tried to put any of them in a carrier to ride, it would sound like the old cartoons where the human cranked up the cat's tail!!

In addition, we feed about 5 or 6 feral cats ( and raccoons, a couple of foxes, and the occasional opossum!). We also do TNR (trap, neuter, release) and so far have caught two. We need to get the trap back out to catch the rest of them. We may not be able to get them a home, as they are very feral, but at least we can feed them, have them fixed so we won't have a bigger feral colony, and they will live longer.

We are animal lovers, and enjoyed reading about all of yours!

Mike and I have three furry kids, two mini schnauzers and a mini dachshund. Byron is a 13 yr old black and silver schnauzer, Maggie is a 6 yr old white schnauzer and lil Lucy is a 9 week old red and black mini dachshund. These days Byron's main goal is to stay out of the girls way...lol. He's kind of set in his ways, and playing isn't on his list. The girls love to play and enjoy being outside. But when we start Spydee up, the kids can't be found. All three are happy, as long as they are with us, and we wouldn't have it any other way!!

A couple of biscuits

Cassie is a classy looking girl! What is her hourly rate for mowing the lawn?

Nan's niece just retired her beagle from agility, he is 14 yrs old. I smell rabbit stew, as Elmer Fudd would say.

A couple of biscuits will usually get the job done.

Are you still not allowed to pump your own gas out there too?

You can pump your own on bikes only. Other vehicles no.
Believe me it gets you out of the gas station faster then self pumpers.
And as a side note gas is also 15 to 25 cents a gal less than in the surrounding states. :dontknow:

My mastiff weight pulls and is an Animal Assisted Therapy dog in training. My beagle and beagle Bassett mix.....well, they're good at sleeping and eating and pooping. :)

I'd love to figure out a way to haul around my 100lb mastiff, any ideas? Modified trailer perhaps? ;)

I have 2 doberman pinschers, they are much too big for a spyder ride, or even to fit into a modified trailer! Sure is good to come home after work and find those nubs wiggling for you! Couldn't live without them!

This is Ziva, our three month old Harlequin Great Dane. She is too young to mess with Spyders yet.

The Australian Shepherd is Charlie. He is now eight. He put his nose on the pipes on my Gold Wing when he was about a year old and now he keeps his distance from anything that looks like a motorcycle.

Just read all the replies. All are great. Had 6 rescue cats, Down to 1 now. All made it to 17+ yrs old. Perky is now 17 & afraid we will lose him soon, Hope not thou!! I do a lot with dogs & used to with horses. Like training them a lot more than competing them.

Y'all know we have a resident expert in transporting your pet??? CyncySpyder aka Teddy and Dave, may have some ideas on how to keep your pet comfortable while riding. I've seen Teddy on his ride, and he's just chillaxin!! nojoke

I have a rescue dog part Australian shepherd and collie. Her job is to get scratches from me, herd the cats and break up any spats they get into. The cats are all fixed, and usually friendly with each other. THEN there's Skydmarque!!! The Siamese. THE QUEEN!!! she thinks. Great lap warmer, but has issues with one of my other "older "cats. Then I have a "ferral" male yellow cat that has THE LOUDEST meow in the state!!! He kinda chased my old 12 year old male away and I am not happy about that but too late now. He's taken over as the only male on the place. His job is to bug me!!and the dog. Poor Missy( the dog ) has to put up with 6 cats!!!The dog is a Saint!!! She just looks at me like"DO I HAVE TO PUT UP WITH THESE CATS"???:hun: They all keep me busy and sometimes my lap just ISN"T big enough!!!

If you can get him to pass the written test for a motorcycle permit, he'd be able to ryde with you without an actual license... :roflblack:

He might have trouble passing the road-test if a cat jumps out in front of him, and he takes off in pursuit! :yikes:
