• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Odometer cluster update CLARIFICATION

Lunar Rover

New member
All,

See below my e-mail to Spyder tech support about the odometer cluster update and their response. According to them the tenths position will remain until the space is needed after 100,000 MILES. So, nobody panic when your tenths position is still there on the main odometer, it'll be around until 99,999.9 miles.

Greetings,

My wife and I have been proud and happy Spyder owners since February
2008. Our first Spyder is an '08 GS PE #1344 and our second is a 2009
GS.

My question is about the odometer cluster update which we had done on
our two machines along with a friend of ours who also had hers done on
her '08 PE #425. A colleague of ours (Lamont of SpyderLovers)
referred me to you so that I could ask for the details on the cluster
update. My question is quite simply, is the tenths position of the
main odometer supposed to disappear after the update or will it remain
until that sixth position is needed as in once we reach 100,000 miles?
I don't want to be negatively surprised when either of us reaches
62,XXX whatever miles it is (100,000KM).

Our tenths position is still there in other words, the mileage on my
wife's Spyder at this time shows as 31,053.1. I was under the
impression that the tenths position would only continue to be present
on the trip odometer's. I simply want to make sure that everything is
as it should be and there will be no problems.

Thanks,

Geoff and Katlyn. (Lunar Rover and Spydergirl)

Thank you for taking the time to write to BRP Mr. Gommerman,

In response to your query, I am pleased to inform you that, after the cluster upgrade is performed, the odometer on both of your Can-AmTM SpyderTM roadsters will keep showing a decimal value until it rolls to 100,000, and stop showing the decimal value at that point. The trip meters will continue to show the decimals however.

I trust that this information is to your satisfaction and once again thank you for communicating with BRP.

Thanks for chasing this, and bringing us up to date. It still leaves a question. Will it switch at the 100,000 km equivalent (62,137 mi), where it froze before, or have they enabled the miles display to go all the way to 100K? I guess we will have to wait a while to find out for sure.
