• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Observations of The Spyder Universe

I disagree with the RT demographic or I just don't fall in to it. The RT in our house has replaced my VStar as and has become our bike as the VStar was mine and my wife did not like the rear seat and lack of space. The other bike we had the BMW R1200GS became what was traded in to make the spyder purchase happen. I will admit when we stopped at the dealership I was looking at an RSS but the salesperson told us we were to mature for the RSS and should look at the ST or the RT which we did. For me our RT and customizing it has been a lot of fun.

Demographics are only statistical bell curves so not everyone fits neatly into one category or another.
The only requirement is that you enjoy your purchase and have fun with it.

Does he have the big Yamaha? :dontknow:

Yep, a Yamaha Royal Star Venture. This is his bike. It used to be mine, when my knees could still hold it upright. ;)

Rob, I'm sure that when he does have to settle it up your RT will have anti-gravity drive, a one touch button for time travel and possibly a panel system that does not require the mirrors to come off to do an oil change.
Hmm. The anti-gravity drive would be a load of fun. But I'd be a little concerned about riding a time machine made by a manufacturer who cannot figure out how to consistently make their products start with a key. I'd be afraid that, if I tried to travel back to have a nice lunch with Ben Franklin, my favorite founding father, I might actually end up being lunch for some dinosaur. :yikes:
