• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I've just passed 3,500KM and keep my Spyder very clean.

While "cleaning" it today, I noticed a gash in the left suspension spring. I don't see how I could have caused this with normal daily use.

Ideas? Suggestions?

Thx
Derek

Because it is on the base coil and is not likely to flex, there's little to worry about. Looking at it, it would have taken very heavy contact to put that deep of a scar in it. That likely would have caused damage to another part of the shock as well, and that's not evident in your photo. It's likely it was damaged long before assembly. Clean the rust out, touch it up, keep an eye on it and roll on. my 2c

It was probably there to begin with...a flaw from the manufacturing process. The spring probably just turned to where you could notice it. I doubt it will hurt anything at that location, but I'd contact the manufacturer and send them the picture, to see about a replacement. It never hurts to ask.

...After all; what would it take to make that one and only mark... Maybe a guy with a hammer and a punch?? :dontknow:
yes; your Bike is PAINFULLY clean! :2thumbs:

It might have been caused by a rock or other hard object kicked up by a vehicle in front of you, but I think Scotty was right, a minor manufacturing defect.
