• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Nothing left to leak!

Our Spyder had been parked in the garage since end of December when we were finally able to pick it up from our dealership after three months of them trying to find/fix our persistent oil leak. We all thought the leak was finally fixed after four attempts by three different dealerships.

When the cover was removed last month, what did we find underneath?.................OMG!!.............a puddle of oil!! :( And it hadn't been driven all winter!! So, back to the dealership it went! (a 3 hour trip each way) We were thinking, WHEN WILL THIS END!?!?, and seriously considering trading the damn thing in!
Our Dealership is Bob's SkiDoo in Easton, MA where the mechanics are experienced; masters trained in Valcourt, and the service manager was in touch with BRP every step of the way.

To our delight and surprise, BRP agreed that everything possible to fix the leak had been tried and THEY WERE GOING TO REPLACE THE ENGINE!!
Last year we were told that BRP would never replace the engine, so we couldn't believe it!
In two weeks time, BRP sent Bob's the new engine, complete with transmission, alternator, coil, etc! We picked it up and took a 3 hour ryde first thing! Bone dry underneath! Nothing left to leak!!

A huge shout out to Bob's SkiDoo in Easton, MA!! Worth the 6 hour round trip, but hopefully we won't be going down there again for a long time!
Also a huge shout out to BRP for really coming thru for us and standing by their product and their customer!

Looking forward to an awesome riding season this year!!

 I'm sorry to hear that it had to come to this... :banghead:

But glad to hear that BRP stepped up to the plate quickly for you!:2thumbs: :congrats:

Congrats on a your PATIENCE and PERSISTENCE

PATIENCE and PERSISTENCE PAYS OFF! Kudo's to you as well for sticking with the issue, now, I wonder what happened with that old engine????

It sure is nice to hear...

...about dealers who do care and take care... and that BRP did the right thing. It's these kinds of actions that will draw people to a company and to a dealer rather than drive them away. Nice report!!

The old engine is being sent back to BRP. Hopefully they'll disect it to figure out where the problem was, probably a cracked or porous block, but we'll never know. Sorry these images are sideways, couldn't figure out how to turn them....

Thanks .....

Thanks for sharing.. sorry it happened and it took so long to get it fix. Do hope they re-search that engine and find the cause..because it was not really fixed, the leak that is. Glad you found the right folks to get this resolved for you and BRP finally saw all was done that could be done. Just in time to...

Thank you for the follow up thread telling us that BRP and a dealer did you right.
We have lots of people who jump on and complain, but few who follow up and let us know when its a good results.

:agree: Thanks for the follow up. Its good to hear that both the dealer and BRP stepped up here.

Many times there is a complaint and then...nothing.

There have been some Very rare reports of porous engine cases, could be the reason in your case. Really happy that BRP has done the honest and honorable thing and replaced the engine!:D
