• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Not too happy with my F3

It's on its second big repair this year. I spoke to service, and they don't know what is wrong. The 'think' it may be metal shards in the transmission case. But they are going back and forth with Can Am trying to verify it. The thing is, when they don't know what is wrong and they are running diagnostics and dealing with Can Am, that takes hours, hours I pay for. Now, I have an expended warranty, so its all covered for now. But what about after the warranty runs out? If some big problem happens again, it could run me into the thousands. :shocked:The dealership apparently can't fix problems on there own very well, so that means extra time. I really like my F3, and I put a lot of money into it. I really hate the thought of selling it after the warranty runs out.:(

Bummer...

Don't know how BRP does it but when I worked with Suzuki they had a rep that traveled to dealerships in his zone. When we got an issue the shop was struggling with you would call and he would come out and tear it down with you to find the problem. Being the rep we got things done quickly and if it was a real problem we replaced it be it engine, frame, suspension etc. Hope they find the problem and get you fixed up to your satisfaction....:banghead:

i would argue with BRP to make sure your warranty for this problem is covered for a longer period of time

Sorry to hear about the issues on your 2014 F3. Is it possible for you to go to another dealer?

Please keep us posted as to how the situation progresses. We have a 2014 RT and are very pleased with it so far.

Very sorry to hear of your troubles with your F3. You can extend the warranty out to 5 yrs and its recommended to do so.

Please keep us posted on what the dealer finds with your bike. We can all learn from the experience.

:agree: That when ever they find the issue you need to ask for that issue to be granted a longer period of coverage.... Hope this is the last problem you will ever have!

That is why extended warranties are the best advice. After 5 years of warranty, any bugs should be sniffed out. After that, well its like owning any vehicle, the warranties always eventually runs out.

Do you have Lemon Law where you live.

What issues were you having that caused you to take it in? Might be beneficial to know if someone else has or has had the same issue.

The Lemon law in Illinois does not apply to motorcycles.

The problem is when I upshift or downshift the gear does not always engage, then skip gears if I hot the lever again. This includes when the machine does the downshifting automatically. iMotorsports thinks there is a contamination in the gear box. But they need to verify this with Can Am. They went back and forth with Can Am the last time I had a problem. It makes me wonder if they have all the proper equipment and training to work on Spyders.

Have you seen the gear position sensor threads? Common issue on the F3 due to contamination in the sensor from the factory. Your symptoms sound similar - have you had an 'E' symbol flash up on the dash where R & N show up?

I finally got word. There are metal fragments in the transmission. So they intend to just replace the whole unit. He made mention that its a $2000 part. I'm not sure why he told me that since I have a warranty. Perhaps he is warning me about the future.

When someone says things like that, that really don't matter at the given time (like mentioning the cost when it really doesn't matter because you're so pissed)...Offer him up a cookie, but saying "OK, do you want a cookie?" ..:roflblack:

At least you've got a clear path to solving the problem now!
Did they mention how long it'd take for them to make the repairs?

Pls. Find out what caused this condition, and pass it on here. Thanks

I feel bad this happened to you, even with the issues I have, I still love riding my F3S
Hope you get the chance to enjoy your bike soon.

Yes, it would be good to know why. Hopefully its a known problem and they fixed it in any new transmissions they put in. Otherwise its a concern for all of us. He did mention the repair is covered. Just like the last major repair I had, my F3 is gone for over a month:banghead: This is prime riding season, so this really sucks.
