• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I was out running errands this morning on our 2012 RT Ltd. came out of the bank and she wouldn't start! We had this problem on Monday but she eventually started. I had checked the battery cables, fuses, was reading my owners manual.... Ended up calling the dealership. Since it would crank but not start fully they feel it is "something electrical" so call roadside assistance. Grrrr.... Not the way I had planned on spending my day off from work - having to cage it! Was going to check out another dealership for future work, along with enjoying bein "knees to the breeze". Guess I'll have them check out the bobbing gas gauge while they have it and why my trip meter doesn't always want to reset. Sigh.... Hope I have her back by Saturday (yeah, right) since I was going to meet up with a sister Spyder Ryder! :(

But the awesome thing is that I had a HD angel come to my assistance for a ride home. He had gone into the bank and when he came out was offering assistance (but e had this confused look in his face :-{ but he tried). Here he lived behind me so gave me a ride back home (1/2 hour away) since roadside assistance wouldn't be there for over an hour or two.

Hope they find the problem quick and get you back on the road.
But it's interesting that a Harley Rider helped you out, And you called him an Angel, Thumbs up to you!
If it would have been the other way around, It seems that lately most Spyder riders would have made it a joke that a Spyder had to help out a Harley,.

Good Luck getting your LTD. back quickly. Hope it's nothing that will take long to get fixed. Good to hear you were offered assistance to try and get back going.

:agree: :2thumbs: It's about the ride; not what you ride!

Several of us Spyders (and a trucker) stopped to help a downed Harley when we were on the Million Dollar Highway for the Owner's Event. None of us were joking about the 3 wheel riders helping the 2 wheel one out but we were rather amazed that fellow Harley riders hadn't stopped to help him. :dontknow: I'll give them the benefit of the doubt...maybe Spyders were the first folks to come across the downed bike. We should help each other out, no matter what the ride.

Thanks everyone. Not surprised by my HD angel - just the fact that there "just happened" to be someone to help! - my sister & BIL are HD owners - have seen them & their friends in action - they have dispelled that "bikers are bad people" image with me a long time ago! :ohyea: I've met some of the most wonderful, loving, caring people thru them - would give the shirts off their backs to help someone in need. On a funny note - my 20 yo son was shocked I would getting onthe back of a bike with a complete stranger - said I was too old to be turning into some wild biker chick! :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

Have to say, was impressed that road side assistance did have someone there within an hour. My dh was able to meet the driver in time. note to self - put BEST warranty card in Spyder. :banghead: We had just finally received it last week and I had forgotten to put it in there.

It's a bit late to ask a question, but if you have an SE did you step on the brake? If it is shut off in gear, it will not restart unless the brake is applied. Several owners have done so accidently, and got the Spyders to start, then couldn't do it the next time because they didn't realize how they did it. Also, you could have accidentally hit the kill switch. Just a couple of things to check next time.

i remember a long time ago 40 years.. i had a 175 SL honda.. working in a band---we were renting a farmhouse in Palmyra TN.. I decided to go to town .. to check the club out.. Clarksville TN... came upon this big olde black biker with a broken Harley in the middle of nowhere.... .. I mean broken.. not going anywhere.. we talked a while.. and I said why don't you take my bike to go find some friends to load yours up.. he looked at me like I was crazy.. with my hair to the middle of my back wearing shorts, no helmet.. I said I will stay here with your bike and wait for you to get back.. he looked at me again strange.. and took me up on the offer.... really wild, watching this 200 lb + dude going down on the road on a 175.. he came back an hr or so later.. with a trailer.... I didn't even notice the time passing.. hey.. it was the 70's and i worked in a rock and roll band. i had contraband..:D:yes:

Thanks for asking - yes I was stepping on the brake, not stepping on the break, tried a variety of things thinking "ok has my brain gone dead and i dont remember how to start this thing?!". :banghead::banghead: Kill switch was off. Meaning it was in the position to turn the bike on. Walked away from the Spyder with the key for 5 minutes. Very frustrating.

I'm sure it is. Probably confusing for the tech, too. It may take a little while to track down, although it's easier if it is readily duplicated. It is not a common problem, if that helps. Hopefully it is just loose battery connections, or something simple to correct. Hang in there, I'm sure it will get better soon.
