• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Not a good start.

So if that's the case, could I jump it off with either a car battery or one of those jump boxes and if it starts off that then I would know.

Yes you can, If it starts run it for a while, Then get a battery tender, [float charger] and let it charge over night.
If it still doesn't hold a charge, It's new battery time.:(
It might just be that your dealer never Fully charged the battery from the get go.:dontknow:

I agree on the Tender 100%.

Restraining order...:D:roflblack::roflblack:

Get a battery tender, As far as your co worker, Get a restraining order to keep him at least 100 feet from your Spyder at all times.:lecturef_smilie:

New Update

New update

At first the jump off didnt seem to do anything. After we unhooked all the cables we tried it one more time, this time my friend pressed the brake down hard and she fired up! Apon starting I got alot of error messages, vss error, dpi fault, and it would say limp mode. So I cut it off and restarted it with no error messages upon restart. So I took it out to wal mart to see if they had that float charger. As I pulled into a spot the error messages returned. Came back out and it started up fine, no error messages. Drove it home and she did fine. Parked it, placed it in neutral and cut it off. Waited a couple minutes and it fired right back up.

Im wondering if I wasn't pushing the brake down hard enough. But that wouldn't explain the error messages I was getting. Oh also my brake lights are also on the fritz! They were def working yesterday, the guy following me from the dealer had to pull beside me a couple times to tell me!

Anyways thanks again for the advice and help!

Well today has gone well up until a few minutes ago, I just got the message that the bike is running too hot. I've only been riding for about 30 min.

Also my rear brake lights don't work.

And when I stopped to let it cool, the parking brake was very very soft and I could roll the bike with it fully engaged.

Loving the bike though, just want to get all these issues outta the way.

I can not comment on your various problems, but will offer that I plug my RT and Gold Wing to battery tenders 365/24/7 when not riding. I also do this on my Kubota, riding mower, 4X4 and motorhome. I change out batteries every three years, whether they need it or not and charge new batteries 24+ hours before using them. Many don't agree with me, but I don't have battery problems. This is what I do and won't argue the pros or cons of this routine...Why? Because it works for me.

Your messages in this post and another thread where you mention a loose under-seat post almost certainly lead me to think you have a bad ground connection that is causing all of you problems. In your other post you said the negative post under the seat is loose- once you get that ratcheted down and a good charge you should see the problems disappear.

Don't ask me how I know- I still get twitchy when I think back to the spell I had with a loose ground connection, all of the problems I had and the nightmare of troubleshooting it. Thanks to this forum I did get it resolved without having to trailer it to a dealer.
